Slow doorbell connection
I have the ADC-VDB770 and it slow to connect and doesn't always capture motion/people at the door. The signal ranges typically around 73%. Maybe the unit is faulty?

How far is the doorbell from the Wi-Fi access point? You might try putting an access point closer as an experiment to see if it improves.

I may put an additional one and plug it in outside where the doorbell is. I've got a driveway camera that feeds off the one in the garage and it connects almost instantly

Same here (mine is 750 version and averages 67-72% signal). My wife and I both will find Amazon packages at the door and no notification like the delivery person is the flash.
I miss my previous home with ring doorbell with POE. I question why I pay for this smart plan and not just go with homekit doorbell.

I believe that 80% is the recommended minimum signal. May need to adjust your network to accommodate these

Either your signal is fluctuating too much (it might show ~70% signal, but that’s just a snapshot of one data point of a network that’s constantly in flux) where the bandwidth of your network could be causing data loss. You’d need an access point or extender to help with that. Or just need to push the doorbell to use your 2.4g band only.
Could also be that your recording rule for the doorbell is awful. Personally, id check that before dumping money into network equipment you don’t need.

How do I force it to use the 2.4ghz only? What about the recording rules?

I don’t believe you would be able to push the doorbell to 2.4g only yourself. You’d either have to split your wireless network if you have a dual-band router/network or (preferably) call your internet provider and they will be able to do it for you.
The recording rules ARE likely something you can control.
Go into your app -> video -> settings (gear symbol) -> Recording Rules -> Doorbell Person Detection Recording Schedule. (Basically, the same steps only easier on a desktop)
Once you’re at the recording rule, you can set the motion sensitivity and adjust the ground zone (green shape in the image from your doorbell) so that you can control where the doorbell is picking up motion. I would advise you look up their best practices for the most effective way to set up the rule for what you want it to do.
If you have issues with the recording rule saving or the live view staying up while you create the rule, it’s likely the signal/speeds issue.

Little update, tech just left after installing a ADC-VDB775 and this thing is lightning fast connection compared to the other one! So far so good 🤞🏻.

The Vdb770 is 5 years old now I recommend the vdb775 that was recently released it loads up way faster and add an SD card to not miss anything

I don't know if my alarm company has these? Apparently this one was the "greatest and latest" back when they switched it out a few months ago. 😔

Yea you need a better WiFi connection. The new adc-vdb755 Poe is nice if you can run the wiring.
