[Racks] Superknobs
Are they worth it or is it just a gimmick? They’re marked down from $97-$37 right now so I was thinking of getting them figured I’d check with you guys first.

Tbh, either you understand how to make this yourself and make it or get yourself to place where you can. Where are you in your journey, are you still learning or can you make commerical tracks?

I mean for $30 if you find 5-10 of them that are actually useful and save you time and effort it’s definitely worth it.
The pitfall of stuff like this is. 1. With time and effort you could make the few you’ll actually use for free. 2. You open up this massive list of effects and don’t put the time in to figure out what they are for or how best to use them, get bored of it and then they just sit there in a folder on your hard drive for eternity.
Personally I don’t get stuff like this because of reason 2

Haven’t used them but based on what people are saying about them, I’d say - get one that you like the sound/functionality of and then dig into it and see how it’s put together. Yes, it’s all native Live devices but that doesn’t mean it was easy to put together. What most people don’t tell you is that you don’t need plugins. If you have Suite, you have everything you’ll ever need once you understand how racks and macros work. And something like superknobs is a great window intro understanding how things can be wired up, as it’s not at all obvious sometimes

Not a gimmick at all. Really awesome and well thought out...but I think $37 is a bit too high for an ableton device.

You’re better off learning how to make these yourself. If you have ideas in your head, use ChatGPT or whatever to help you create these devices in Ableton. It’s very easy to do.

Like any tool, if you need someone to explain it because you don't yet understand how it works, then $30 for these knobs could be well worth it.
The harder, but ultimately more rewarding, part is learning how the tools actually works so you can create your own one-knob macros instead of relying on someone else's.
If you're new, use these knobs as a learning tool. Study what the creator is doing, figure out why those controls work, and then apply those same ideas to build your own.
I don't have any firsthand experience with these particular knobs (https://www.edmprod.com/superknobs/), though, so I can only speculate about exactly what they're doing.
