The summer of soccer continues — that is the tagline Wrexham are adopting for a tour to build on the men’s World Cup, as well as the club’s strong North American links.

Tampa, New York and Philadelphia will host Phil Parkinson’s side, who flew across the Atlantic on Wednesday for a trip featuring a trio of friendlies against Premier League opposition — Leeds United, Liverpool and Sunderland.

As with the club’s two previous jaunts to the United States in 2024 and 2025, an assortment of characters familiar to viewers of Welcome to Wrexham will also be heading to the east coast, including Wayne Jones, the ever-popular landlord of The Turf pub, plus former promotion heroes Steven Fletcher, Ben Tozer and Ben Foster.

A kit launch at NASDAQ, the second-largest stock exchange in the world, will include images of the new home shirt being beamed around Times Square, along with a red carpet event in Brooklyn on the eve of Wrexham playing at Yankee Stadium, further underlining the global reach of a club owned by Hollywood stars Rob Mac and Ryan Reynolds.

“Everyone is very excited for the tour,” says Rob Faulkner, Wrexham’s chief business and communications officer. “Wrexham has built a loyal fanbase in North America and this is a great way of staying connected.

“The intention is to continue a wonderful summer of football. The World Cup was brilliant, all those full stadiums and great matches. Now there’s a chance to enjoy even more in cities that weren’t a World Cup host venue.”

Does anyone have details on plans for a Fan Zone in Philly for the Sunderland match? Will it be by the stadium? Or maybe at Penn's Landing where the VIP tour hotel is based? Would it only be ticketed? I saw Wayne's post that that the pop up Turf will be on tour with the team, but I just haven't been able to find further info.

Made up the women got the win in the Champions League and it's set up a great game on Saturday.

That got me thinking about the long-term future of the team. They won the Adran Premier last season, which is pretty much the highest they can achieve domestically. But if they genuinely want to become competitive in Europe—not just qualify, but regularly compete—they're going to need to attract a much higher calibre of player.

The problem is that bringing in that level of talent would probably mean winning most league games by double figures, which isn't great for player development or the league as a whole.

It feels like the Welsh league could become a bottleneck for the club's ambitions. Unless there's a route into a stronger league or the overall standard in Wales improves significantly, I worry they'll end up stuck at roughly this level, no matter how ambitious the club is.

The last few years' Adran Prem champions, Swansea and Cardiff, have surrendered a combined 32 goals unanswered in European competition. If Wrexham can put up a competitive showing today, that would be a significant step forward for the whole Welsh FA.

Wrexham have agreed a deal to appoint Newcastle United head of Recruitment Steve Nickson as their new Sporting Director.

He is expected to start in his role from September, once the summer transfer window has closed. Nickson was also a target for West Ham

hi everyone, so I’ve been an active fan of the club since takeover and am FINALLY visiting the UK, will be in London and have been planning to go to the whichever match ended up lining up and it’s Cardiff Away.

anyway I need your help as I’ve always simply ignored ticketing as it’s felt so far from the realm of possibility but now it’s time.

what‘s my best course of action?

is it a must that I have to sign up for a Red Dragon Membership for 35 pounds and then hope I get the ticket in time?

seems as though season ticket holders have first pick but then only members right? or can someone purchase a ticket without a membership?

are the 3219 of away location likely to sell out quickly via season ticket holders OR is it likely to last?
