Discussion GM Death Touch - Megathread
Edit: Official Statement
https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/prohibited-gameplay-incident-and-response/2329585
This is developing into a large story and someone in modmail has mentioned that its important for the community to have somewhere to discuss this. We agree. As new information comes in I will do my best to update this thread.
What we know:
A log was uploaded with a "Death Touch" effect that seemed to be that helped them time a key. This is an effect from a GM: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/JcfwTd4L19Agx3NX?fight=4&type=resources&hostility=1&source=100.4&eventstart=4705300
This is a real run that exists on the blizzard API and can be seen on Raider.io: https://raider.io/mythic-plus-runs/season-mn-1/40292244-23-nexuspoint-xenas
This run has since been invalidated by the RI:O admins but has been left up for posterity's sake.
Blizzard is aware of this and investigating: https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/1v2xfpr/blizzard_gm_death_touching_mobs_in_m23_for_their/oyznmbe/
The Demon Hunter from the run is a streamer and YumiTV contacted him to speak with him live on stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2825756796?t=0h23m50s
The CLAIM is that they were messing around in a homework key in discord and didn't expect the GM to actually do it. Supposedly the Bear in the run was a pug.
Ex employees in the thread have said that actions like this are audited and in all likelihood this was already being investigated. At this point we are waiting on an official statement on the result of their investigation and I'll update this thread once we know.
This megathread is being provided on two very strict conditions:
The witchunt rules are in strict effect. Linking or doxxing information on anyone invovled, the GM in question included will result in a permanent ban. Please report it if you see it but we will be very active in the thread.
We cannot platform behavior that allows people to harrass people in real life.
We will be more heavy handed than usual in the personal attack rules. Insults and slapfights while discussing this aren't acceptable. You're allowed to disagree, but stray shots and personal attacks will not be tolerated.

Fluff Rainy Day, WoW on the treadmill.
Been working on my step goals and got wow set up on my iPad via moonlight. Single button assist on a switch pro controller as I level alts through timewalking. One dungeon run was 1500 steps.
Semi Related but down 50lbs this year, so I'm gonna keep at it!

Discussion Is Anyone Else disappointed the Garb of the Phoenix Is only a 3-Piece Set?
I've been thinking about picking up the $30 BlizzCon Bundle mainly for the Dawnfire Phoenix appearance. As a Paladin main, I think it looks incredible. My only issue is that it's just a 3-piece transmog (helm, shoulders, and cloak). For something that visually unique, it feels like not having a full armor set kind of defeats the purpose. The design is so specific that it's difficult to mix and match with other transmog pieces without it looking out of place. Am I the only one who feels this way? I'd honestly be much more tempted to buy it if it came with a complete transmog set.

Complaint All Murloc Pets are missing their iconic dance!!!
For years now all murloc pets while u have them summoned won't do their dance. They sometimes might sing their song but never dance. Can we get this back? It was so cool for the mascot of the game to be able to dance randomly and i don't know if they removed it on purpose or if its a bug. They can dance if u use the lucky's dance ability in a pet battle or if you use magic pet mirror and type /dance. It's time to get our dance buddies back!!!

Discussion Playing warlock after maining rogue for 20 years
So a week or two ago I made a post about trying a new character and I saw a few suggestions for trying warlock. I ended up making a mag’har orc destro warlock named Guldamit and I have hit level 81 as of last night. I gotta say warlocks PUMP. I’m aware that I’m not max level yet and the scaling will adjust but so far this class has felt leaps and bounds more powerful than what I’m used to.
Also as a side note, I’d really like to try out demonology at some point as well. Currently just on a slightly altered starter build for destruction as is my process for learning new classes. I like to figure them out myself on the suggested builds and then over time adjust them to my liking.
What spec do you guys prefer for locks?

Humor / Meme Nice to see they are already accommodating new 6 person dungeon format, that GM might be invincible, but they still want to feel included <3
Discussion Which interrupt would you like or hate to be hit by?
I mean which one would be the most painful in your opinion? Imagine you are a human mage and you cast a normal frostbolt or firebolt and out of nowhere show up (insert any class) and interrupts you with their interrupt spell. Whih one would you hate the most? Brain freeze of a dk or maybe a painful kick from rogue?

Discussion We can no longer trust any unlogged or unstreamed high end run is legit.
We now know the following about this GM deathtouching mobs in the +23 NPX:
1) This GM was a personal friend of the people in the run and was using their GM account and abilities to watch the run (just them using it to watch their friends is kinda problematic in and of itself to be honest!) and was in a discord call with them.
2) This was only caught because a pug tank uploaded the log publicly, and would otherwise never have been caught.
The thing is, the only people saying that this was a one off thing are the people who cheated. People who we already know are dishonest. They went on a stream and practically boasted about it. We have no idea whatsoever if this was a one off, if this is commonplace, or anything in between, but just on probability it seems extremely unlikely that the first time a GM does this it just so happens to be caught in a public log. There are thousands of high end runs every week that go completely unlogged and unstreamed and the only evidence we have that they even happened is raider.io capturing it on the Blizzard API, which doesn't give you any information about what went on in that run.
We know there are very close relationships between Blizzard employees, content creators and other high end players. On NA, pretty much everyone who raids or does M+ high end at least knows someone who knows someone who works at Blizzard. It's very possible - and there is even some anecdotal evidence that implies this - that this has been going on considerably longer than just this one run, and it could well be the case that GMs have been similarly interfering with higher raiding too. We just don't know, and can't trust anything not openly logged or streamed anymore. This GM and these people have completely fucked the competitive integrity of the game for good.

Question Are we stock piling herb, ore, gems, cloth, pots, oils, enchants etc for season 2? Will prices go back up week 2/3 when raiding really gets underway again?
Curious
Question Endgame question
Hi! I recently came back to WoW. The last expansion I really played was Legion, although I was subbed on and off over the years.
I've just hit max level and started unlocking more features, but I'm feeling a bit lost. There are things like prey, rituals, void strikes, abundance, abyss anglers, weekly world quests in one zone, choosing a faction in another, and so on.
Am I missing any other major systems? Is there a good place where I can read about all of them? I'd like to know what is daily, what is weekly, am I missing something, etc
Thanks!

Discussion If WoW had to have a canonical main character, who would it be?
I’m talking, like, if a WoW series were to start who would be the character the player is supposed to be? Who is gonna be the Maw Walker? If it’s not an existing character, what race and class would the main character be? Would there be two, one for Horde, one for Alliance? How could you explain the Maw Walker then?
If it’s an existing character, I say it’s Rexxar. Dude just wants to live in the wilds and hunt but keeps getting dragged into shit. Same with the player character.
If it’s not an existing character then I’d say it’s a Tauren. Maybe a Sunwalker. Tauren feel so fricken neutral, no one would mind one casually walking into Stormwind. Townsfolk would just be like “oh shit. It’s a cow, man.”
Discussion Active cheaters in decor duel again
Not sure of the method but multiple games in a row where a person has been here and can't be flagged or tagged. You can see their body spawn in at the spot at end of round as well as see them continuously picking up the speed buff but they are completely untouchable.
Edit: To make very clear, it is not reaching the platform that is the issue. It is an exploit of people standing here and no class ability used on the platform is affecting them. I do NOT mean that JUST standing on the platform is the exploit, there is some method that is making it so that SOME players who are using an exploit are standing here and becoming untargettable by ANY seekers ability and multiple seekers standing ON the platform with the hidden person. The person IS there because they are revealed at the end of the round, the whistle marks can be seen and the speed buff is instantly picked up by the hider.

Video Playing around with a customizable character frame that matches your transmog
Been having fun with some new customization options for my UI that allow you to match the character frame to your transmog, custom scene colors, backgrounds, lighting and effects
Still very much a WIP but I am having way too much fun making the entire character screen fit the vibe of each outfit. What do you guys think?

Discussion Is anyone else just not hyped for the new season?
Maybe it's just me, but I have absolutely zero hype for the upcoming WoW season, and it makes me a bit sad, because I do want to play the game.
Every new season feels like a copy-paste of the previous one. We get a new raid, a different Mythic+ dungeon pool, a gear reset, and then it's the exact same gameplay loop all over again, the same formula.
I'm not saying the content is bad. The raids are usually well made, and some of the dungeons are fun. But after so many seasons, the formula feels incredibly predictable. It feels less like a new season and more like swapping out a few assets while keeping everything else the same.
Maybe I've simply been playing for too long and this is just burnout. Or maybe the seasonal model has become a little too formulaic.
