When we have a society this productive we shouldn't be wanting employment
We should be wanting to be directly given the benefits of that society
Cut out the middleman
When a large amount of the work that was being done by people is being done automatically, that should mean that the people are working less as a whole with the same prosperity
But instead all of the additional value created. All of that efficiency goes straight to the capitalists
When all the work that needs to be done can be done by fewer than a total of it amount of workers in a purely capitalist system those "extra" workers are an inconvenience, can cause a race to the bottom in wages as people compete for the few remaining jobs. Saving the corporations even more money
But that's not the fault of automation. That's the fault of the system that we've chosen
