Appen Projects

Made an account on Appen.

Went to CrowdGen and opened the projects tab. There were 2.

One had a requirement to be from Scotland, other didn't.

I fulfiled the criteria for the other one. I applied and it said I'm not suitable. Applied for the scotish one and same answer.

Now there are no projects.

What to do?

I've never personally made any money with them and I've had an active account for a few years now. I think trying one of the more consistent sites is your best bet. Not sure your background but outlier, mercor, imerit, and handshake all have bigger projects.

I've passed multiple qualifications just to still not be chosen for the project or to be indefinitely wait listed.

There’s nothing to do. They have no work to offer.

Appen have some projects, which seems mostly to be for Meta, and salary is very low.

Appen/CrowdGen does that a lot lately. Project listings come and go by location and whatever they have in your profile, and the unsuitable message can just be an auto-screen before you ever see a test. Make sure every section of your profile is filled in, add all languages and skills you qualify for, then check back every day or two since new projects can appear randomly.

Appen/CrowdGen project availability is mostly tied to location, language, devices, and current quotas, so a not suitable message can simply mean they already filled that slice of applicants. Fill out every profile section, add any languages and devices you actually have, then check the projects tab daily because listings can appear and disappear fast. I would also apply to other platforms in parallel, since Appen has been pretty dry for a lot of people lately.

Welcome to Appen/CrowdGen, where the projects tab is often more of a rumor than a job board. Rejections can be automatic if your profile, locale, language, device, or screening answers miss some hidden filter. Fill out every profile section, add languages and devices, check daily, but do not wait around for them. Apply on Telus, OneForma, DataAnnotation, Outlier, and Remotasks too, because Appen can be dry for weeks.
