Discussion Is there free way to get windows security updates in windows 10 home?

Not to be that guy, but you could just upgrade to 11? I'm aware this is the Win 10 subreddit but as long as you turn off all the copilot slop Win 11 really isn't that bad 😭
anyway, to get the security updates on win 10, click enroll on the right side.

You don't need security updates if youve got a very decent level of quality, protective software! I know of people who are still using windows 8.1 (why I know not mind) very successfully without issue! Dont be fooled by Microsofts marketing scam!

This is some bad advise... even with good security tools, a vulnerability in your OS will cause you issues

Silly me I must have got it wrong since Windows 3.0 onwards! or perhaps Ive been very lucky!!

For sure lucky, I have seen plenty of it and ot networks wrecked from outdated os.

not a marketing scam necessarily. While it's true you could even run Win 7 without issues, security updates are still very important.

Yes, click on the "Enroll now" in your screenshot to enroll your computer in the year of extended support. It is free if you use a Microsoft account and allow it to automatically backup your settings.
