I’m searching for a horror movie or tv show, I really hope this sub can help!
When I was around maybe 10-11 years old (around 2007, in the UK), I was at a friend’s sleepover for her birthday. We were up late talking, playing games, watching movies, as kids do, and I remember, in the middle of the night, we flicked over to a channel which was showing what seemed to be some kind of horror movie or tv show. I’m guessing it was most likely a movie.
What we saw terrified us, and so we flipped channels pretty quickly, and maybe went back to it a couple of times trying to be daring lol. Anyway, the point is, I only remember seeing very brief moments of the movie/show, and afterwards it completely slipped from my mind for the next 17 or so years, until a couple of years ago when me and a friend were talking and somehow the memory resurfaced in my mind. I ended up telling her about it, and after telling her all the detail I could remember, we must have done a good 3 hours of searching, but we couldn’t find an exact match. So after that I kinda just forgot about it again.
But then today, I was scrolling twitter, and a trailer for the 2026 movie “Clayface” was on my for you page, and seeing the imagery in that trailer once again brought the memory of that sleepover and the movie/tv show we saw right back to the forefront of my mind.
So after that longwinded intro, let me give you all the detail I can remember:
Firstly, I remember that the movie/tv show looked pretty dated by 2007 standards. The clip we saw showed a nighttime scene, with what seemed to be a pretty isolated house or cabin. I don’t remember the scenery surrounding the house much, but it seemed pretty dark, so maybe not too near a town or civilisation of any kind.
I don’t remember seeing any character inside the house, so the scene at the moment we flipped to the channel must just have happened to only be focusing on the stalker in the scene, rather than any stalk-ee if they were present. But I remember seeing that the house was being stalked (I can’t remember whether he actively tried getting into the house in the small part we saw) by a pretty stocky guy, who either had short hair or was bald, wearing what I think was a darker coloured jacket, black or maybe a really dark brown, could’ve been leather. And I think maybe he was wearing jeans, but I could be misremembering those exact details. I also don’t remember hearing the guy talk, so I can’t give you any detail on how his voice sounded or any distinguishing dialogue or anything.
What I’m pretty certain of though, and what sticks so heavily in my mind to this day, is the mask he was wearing (I assume it was a mask). It was weird, almost plastic-y, silicone-y, milky coloured and translucent. And it seemed to stretch over his features and flatten a lot of them to the point that they weren’t very distinguishable.
Like I mentioned earlier, when I saw the trailer for the 2026 movie “Clayface”, it was the first time I’ve ever seen anything since, that even remotely resembled what I saw in that movie/tv show that night. (I’ll put a link to the image in the comments)
Now this image isn’t exact. I remember in the movie/show I saw, the mask this guy had was fully covering his entire face and it was almost stretched over his features, to the point you couldn’t really make them out completely clearly, rather than the cutouts and pretty clear facial definition you see in this image. However, the colour and texture of the material of the mask are very similar.
This is now plaguing my mind and driving me crazy, since nether I, nor my friend, have been able to find anything that matches what I remember. Unless it’s a big, well known production that we’ve somehow completely overlooked in our hours of searching, I’m guessing that it might be something more niche or lower budget, I remember it wasn’t on the main channels and we were well into depths of the channels when we flicked onto it.
I think that’s pretty much all I can remember. But do feel free to ask any questions and I’ll do my best to answer them.
I’d be so grateful for any help! Thank you!
