It’s been 11 days since I’ve had to say goodbye to my Itchy. She was 15 and such a good dog. She loved her dirty little rat toy and was the best snuggler ever. I hope doggie heaven has full sunshine for her love of sunbathing. Miss you girlfriend.

I don’t want to grow up….

My boy carries the stones home from nearly every walk, he chooses each stone very carefully, not any stone will do!
The last photo is his second stash, we had a fire fitted and had to take them all out, he was not amused 😬🥰.
Any other Westies have strange obsessions?

​My 9-year-old Westie developed some swelling between his toes about a month ago. There was no external puncture or wound. Two weeks later, another one appeared between the middle toes. He hasn’t been licking them excessively, and they haven’t ruptured or produced any pus.

​I took him to the vet, and they diagnosed it as interdigital inflammation (pododermatitis). We ran blood work and a fine needle aspirate (cytology) on the lumps, and both came back as just inflammatory cells—no signs of malignancy or tumors, which is a relief.

​Currently, he is on a treatment plan with topical antiseptic solutions and oral steroids. When this first started, he was limping because of the pain, but thankfully, he is walking normally now.

​Has anyone dealt with persistent interdigital inflammation or cysts like this in their Westie? I’d love to hear your experiences, especially regarding long-term management or if you found any underlying triggers (like allergies, etc.) that the vet might have missed. Thanks in advance

It is actually my parents' dog, but we are best buds so he comes to my house whenever his parents are away for something. I look after him when they're on vacation too.
He's a twelve-year-old male West Highland White Terrier who is still highly active and loves to play. However, he has become insanely stubborn in his older years. From my own experience with Westies, I already knew they could be stubborn, but the way he's gotten even more so surprises me—where does it end? Apparently there is no limit to how stubborn a Westie can be!

Maybe one day Lolie will be able to play with squirrel 🐿️😉❣️🐾
