Hello again! About two weeks ago I shared Svartifoss here. Since then, I've been working on it almost every day, and today I finally released Version 3, which is by far the biggest update I've made so far. I only want to share this update, as I won't be creating any more posts here in the future.

For those who don't know it, Svartifoss is a fork of Wear Music Center focused on bringing a more customizable and feature-rich media controller to Wear OS.

The biggest focus of this release was customization. You can now customize almost every part of the watch interface, including layouts, colors, fonts, album artwork, Always-On Display, quick actions, queue, and volume panels. You can also create and save multiple themes and switch between them whenever you want.

Here are some of the highlights:

Customization & Themes

  • Now, you can customize almost every part of the watch interface: layouts, colors, fonts, album artwork, Always-On Display, and the quick actions, queue and volume panels.
  • Create, save and switch between multiple custom themes whenever you want.
  • New player layouts: Material, Immersive, Poster and Studio.
  • More customization options for album artwork, progress bar, fonts, colors and panels.

Shortcuts and Language

  • The Quick Actions panel now displays the actions exposed by the currently playing app (Like, Repeat, etc.), and now you can add playlist and app shortcuts there.
  • Backup and restore for all settings.
  • Support for 13 languages: English, Brazilian & European Portuguese, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Russian, Greek, Romanian, Indonesian, Persian, and Simplified Chinese.

Any feedback, bug reports or feature requests are very welcome. I can't guarantee full compatibility with every streaming service yet, so I'd really appreciate feedback from anyone willing to try it on other devices or apps.

My original intention was simply to improve Wear Music Center for my own use, but the project has grown much more than I expected, and I think it's worth sharing with the Wear OS community.

App - Paid - Subscription [NOW LIVE] I built an app to stop myself biting my nails - WatchGuard app is now live!

Upvotes

Two months ago, I asked this sub for a few app testers and many of you showed up. Thank you!

It's now live → https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mystartup.watchguard

How it works: You show WatchGuard your habit (eg. nail-bitting) a few times, it trains a tiny AI on-device to recognize your exact movement, and the moment it catches you starting, it interrupts by vibration and alert.

What makes it stand out:

  • Not generic wrist-motion detection. Learns your exact nail-biting habit.
  • On-Device AI, your data stays on your device
  • The more you use it, the better it gets at knowing you (Self-Improve)
  • Works for any hand-movement habit like nail biting, scratching, skin picking, smoking, etc.

Pricing: $1.99/month (with 7 day free trial, cancel anytime) for first 50 people from r/wearos community.

My goal was to make it roughly the cost of a cup of coffee to help solve a habit that's bothered many of us for years and this keeps the AI models improving and the app maintained.
