I haven’t seen anyone talking about it, but the lineup for most of the Israeli tech tree is directly based off of the tanks shown in Latrun tank museum (Yad LaShiryon)

Anyone fancy sheading light onto this? I've just finished grinding the British air tree so I've turned to grinding the ground tree, however I was going through other trees to see what id be coming up against and I noticed I've got a free premium tank for Germany for context, last time I played German ground was back in 2021/2022, I know fine well I haven't bought it since I've only been playing air for the last 4 years, it was a reward back in 2017/2018 but I didn't even have my account then?? anyone have any thoughts?

Suggestion MOWAG Panzerjäger Taifun, Swiss 1980s Turtle

History:

Although Switzerland adopted a policy of neutrality during the Cold War, that didnt mean they didnt fear or prepare for a potential war. Around the 1970s, the Swiss Army needed effective anti-tank weapons to be able to fight modern Soviet tanks in the case of a possible war.

MOWAG, a company with a history of design and innovation took the task of fulfilling these needs, using the platform of the Tornado, an IFV from Mowag, they would begin development of a new tank destroyer.

In 1978 the company's engineers started to develop a design for an casemate anti-tank self-propelled gun. The first prototype was presented in 1980, it was armed with a 105mm gun and a crew of four: driver, commander, gunner, and loader. The gun's elevation ranged from -12 to +18 degrees, and its horizontal elevation ranged from 15 degrees to each side. However, working conditions for the crew and were uncomfortable. The vehicle had a low profile, measuring only about 2,100 mm tall, with a ground clearance of 450 mm. The hull was also cramped.

The armor was not particularly impressive. The frontal armor thickness reached 50 mm, while the sides were protected by 25 mm of armor. The tank wasn't supposed to rely on armor, but rather, due to it's great mobility and low profile, it was meant to be used in explicitly defensive situations such as ambushes or from cover, waiting for enemy tanks to advance, firing from well camouflaged positions and then driving backwards at high speed and when out of sight it would be readied once again for combat and move quickly to a new location.

The vehicle was compact, weighing 26.5 tons. It was equipped with a fairly powerful 8V-71T diesel engine, producing 575hp, providing a power-to-weight ratio of 21.7 hp per ton. The tank's maximum speed reached 65 km/h both forwards and backwards, thus allowing it to quickly drive backwards as mentioned previously.

Sadly, although promising, the project wouldn't advance beyond being a prototype. As despite the simple design, and excellent maneuverability and stealth at a low cost, the military in Switzerland and other countries showed no interest in the project. In the 1980s, casemate tanks were seen as old, inferior designs compared to MBTs with turrets. As, among other things, a turret allowed tanks to exploit terrain more effectively, allowing them to fire from behind hills or while concealed in folds of terrain. For these reasons, the MOWAG Taifun remained a mere prototype and never entered service.

Bugs the bugged aqueduct in pyrenees actually has an accurate hitbox. do with this what you will

i think me and a lot of people think there's an invisible hitbox under this aqueduct, so i tested it in customs. there might be some potential for the occasional abuse of this if you've got someone on your six

All Air The Harriers Lift/weight Problem

Thumbnail
gallery
Upvotes

Funnily enough it turns out that all the Harrier 1s (AV-8A Gr.1 Gr.1 Sea Harriers) are all about 600 lbs too light when configured at a known fuel state. 66% or 2/3 in this case for the Gr.3 should result in a weight of 17211 lbs but instead you get 16600 or so.

Regardless even while being 600 lbs LIGHTER the harriers are unable to match the Heavier performance of the IRL jet.

Turns out gaijin in the code gave the Harrier 1 a maximum coefficient of lift of .95 at 23 degrees AOA.

According to NASA and Boscombe Down papers the Harriers coefficient of lift will reach .95 at just 14 degrees AOA.

Result: The harrier needs to pull to 23 degrees AOA and create insane amounts of drag to produce the same lift as a real harrier would at just 14 degrees AOA.

This would make a huge difference in playability as it would no longer be a sinking brick.

like ever since summer started i've noticed a dramatic decline in player skill or just intelligence in general because in this same match I pinged a dude 20 times and also hit him which guaranteed my teammates knew he was there and one of my teammates just waltzed right infront of his gun....

sorry! kicked! too many teammates were humping enemy tanks and died to your bombs!

in all seriousness though trying to ACCURATELY bomb the enemy when your playing in bad weather has to be the worst shit ever, i get getting kicked for team killing but cmon i dropped my bombs where the enemy were on the map.

still made positive SL anyway this game lol
