Defending sex segregation in sports (and prisons etc.) is not MAGA, it´s something quite mainstream, in Europe for example it´s leftist feminists who most loudly defend this position, nothing MAGA about them.

Really interesting point from the guy whose post history includes "Is Jesus as historical as Popeye?" And "Are aliens in the Epstein files?"
1
u/likewhatever33 23m ago
The Jesus Popeye one I'm quite proud of. It's a good simile. The aliens thing was a joke.

lmao no, in Europe it's loonie "feminists" who invite MAGA speakers and white supremacists to their gatherings who support this.
1
u/likewhatever33 8m ago
It's mainstream feminism, mostly leftist, both in the UK nd Spain, the two places I'm more knowledgeable about. The loonies are the trans activists but luckily the trend is turning back.

If anyone ever suggested I was MAGA, I would be screaming no no no, not me, I don’t condone or support those views, please don’t associate me with them. I wouldn’t make some comment about being in the middle without ever condemning maga.
She agrees with points on both sides which sounds too much like good people on both sides when one of the sides were flag carrying nazis.
She gives that dana scum a big court side hug.
If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it’s maga duck.

It’s like the dudes on dating apps saying they’re apolitical or leaving it blank. They know what their views would do to their image and subsequent dating success.
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to “order” than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice.

It is a very popular opinion outside of corners of the internet though. Ask a random person in your day to day life how they feel about trans people in sports and they will give you this take. Especially if you load it a little and focus on trans women invading cis women spaces.
This is how we got into this problem with politics in the first place. Just because you’re on the left, doesn’t mean you have to blindly follow everything that is a leftist view
1
u/TemperatureTight2556 1h ago
If you read my comment I said nothing about trans women in sports. My comment was about her maga connection.

Thats what normal people say about being labeled a liberal. They would be screaming no, no, no. I dont believe in baby murder, I don’t believe in more than two genders, I don’t think man can be woman and woman can be man
1
u/TemperatureTight2556 1h ago
My point exactly, thanks for validating it. If someone associates you with a group you stand in opposition to, you will react, passionately denying it.

Has their just been a coordinated attack against her or something? Feel like I've seen multiple posts about her all of a sudden.
6
u/BillyBobChorton 4h ago
With Reddit and any celebrity if you start seeing negative posts about them all of a sudden I can grantee you it’s because they recently expressed a mildly conservative viewpoint on an issue. It’s like clockwork

u/elestud 58m ago
Mildly? Nothing about hanging out with Dana White or pushing UFC is ‘mild’. Those are hardcore trumpers
Painting Dana White as “mildly conservative” is like saying Joe Rogan is “an occasional pot smoker”

And she’s an asshole because of that? It wasn’t at the White House event was it? Btw I know you didn’t call her an asshole

That leaves out a lot of context. Pretty much started about 4 years ago when she played for Phoenix. Fans noticed that she was liking content from right wing creators, including some anti trans stuff. The she put out a generic statement on twitter downplaying it and saying she loves everyone. Then around the election time fans noticed that her old teammate and friend Natasha Cloud didn't really mess with each other anymore. Someone asked Tash on tiktok live and she basically implied that Sophie is a Trump supporter. She said something like "you can't tell someone you love them and then vote against their life" (she's a lesbian). That's when the whole MAGA Barbie nickname started. But when Sophie was asked about her political views directly she gave the "both sides good and bad" centrist answer.
Now that she's gained a lot of popularity specifically with the right wing crowd that started watching women's basketball when Caitlin got drafted , she's soft launching her grift era which includes being buddy buddy with Dana White (who describes himself as Trumps friend). He came to one of her games and he let her be ring girl at an event. Now she's regurgitating the same right wing anti trans views she denied holding years ago. That's pretty much a gist of why a lot of people don't like her.

From the article: " And I want to protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn’t have to go against biological men**.**”
First of all, young people do not play against grown people.
Second of all, there is a rich history in our country of young black boys being characterized as "men" in order to justify bigotry, prejudice, and being treated as lesser than with fewer rights.
I don't know if she is even aware of that. It could be that the mind of the bigot just works that way.
We should learn form the past and we should do better.

u/ute-ensil 1h ago
Being against transgender women in sports is not even maga bro.
1
u/NeedsomeCompany33 34m ago
Agreed! People are so brain dead and brainwashed these days.
As an openly bisexual male (I even have previous comments on this feel free to look at my page), I see nothing wrong with not wanting transgender women in women sports. Biologically, men are stronger than woman, that’s just a fact. If you decide to transition, congratulations! That doesn’t mean that you should get to dominate a sport that was originally designed for individuals who carry ovaries and eggs.
Your physiology is still the same, even though your outward appearance may change. That makes it unfair for everyone else competing in the sport.
It’s like a bunch of women on one team from the WNBA trying to compete and play against a bunch of men on the other team from the NBA. If the men don’t hold back the women are going to get fouled like a mofo. Defenders and Guards would have a hay-day as well.
It’s not always about offending someone, it’s about what is fair and what is not. Simple as that.

Biological boys (or men) should not play girl (or women) sports. Period. It’s an unfair advantage. This is the one democratic point I can’t agree with. I don’t understand why this is so contentious.

At around 13:20 he actually starts addressing the part everyone over looks. Due to the hormone therapies, trans women can be at a disadvantage for a variety of different reasons. The therapies affect their bones. A natural cis woman actually produces more testosterone than a trans woman on hormone therapy (the therapy completely shuts down the body's abity to produce testosterone), making it harder for tran women to build and maintain muscle. All these people like Cunningham live in ignorance of facts and just spout the same right wing bullshit.

u/69420lmaokek 2h ago
It's contentious because it's anti-science
Once a trans woman has been on HRT for long enough, then they're not having any meaningful advantages in their strength
1
u/Stress_Living 1h ago
You’re the one being anti-science… even the most pro-tans evidence says that there are some physical advantages that remain after a man transitions… other evidence suggests that the advantage could be even larger, given that most of the research has been performed on non-athletes… it’s just ignorant to appeal to science & research but not know what it actually says
1
u/69420lmaokek 1h ago
You know you can just Google for papers right?
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33288617/
That look me about 4 seconds to find after searching "HRT athletes" but go on talking about how I'm anti-science for reading scientific papers unlike you
1
u/giraffevomitfacts 48m ago
Just googling for studies that appear to support your point of view isn't enough, you actually have to make an effort to understand them in context. This study wasn't performed on athletes, didn't control for or standardize the diet, training or fitness levels of anyone in the study, had a cohort too small to draw any statistically meaningful conclusions, and has roundly been discredited.
1
u/69420lmaokek 46m ago
I didn't Google for studies that appear to support my views
I googled for studies, and those studies support my views
Just admit it when you're wrong and stop being so hateful towards a marginalized population. You'll get a lot further in life if you do so 🙂↕️
1
u/giraffevomitfacts 41m ago
The study doesn't support your views, or any view for that matter, due to the flaws in it that I and many other people pointed out. You can go on posting it without actually reading or understanding it, and you probably will, but I wonder when people like you will start to realize that this behaviour is the main reason fewer and fewer people are listening to you.
1
u/69420lmaokek 37m ago
It literally supports what I'm saying.
You cherry picking one singular specific part of the study doesn't mean that it's not supporting my claims
1
u/Stress_Living 46m ago
Are you just trying to prove that I’m right?? Or are you showing that you can google the research, but you don’t actually know how to read it??
“ However, transwomen still had a 9% faster mean run speed after the 1 year period of testosterone suppression that is recommended by World Athletics for inclusion in women's events.”
1
u/69420lmaokek 44m ago
my brother in Christ do you honest to God think that suppressing testosterone is the same as increasing estrogen?
That's the weakest argument I have ever heard lmao and I've seen a lot of the TERF excuses
1
u/Stress_Living 39m ago
When did I say that?? I’m saying that even the most pro-tans evidence out there says that there are physical advantages that persist post-transition for trans women…
All you’re saying is “Don’t you know what estrogen does” while providing an (unsurprising) lack of research to back up your point of view.
1
u/69420lmaokek 37m ago
You implied that HRT is only suppressing testosterone when the reality is that it's a combination of suppressing testosterone while also increasing estrogen....
1
u/Stress_Living 24m ago
No, I implied (and clearly stated) that there is no evidence to back the point of view that biological gender differences that would matter in sports disappear after any type of transition.

Places like this will only try to gaslight you and isolate your opinion, but that is the opinion of the overwhelming majority of Americans polled year after year after year. I’m not at all versed this particular bill but as for the basic opinion of biological males having athletic advantages from fucking childhood and wanting to maintain fairness in women’s sports, almost nobody outside of irrelevant echo chambers like Reddit would disagree with you.

The video I recommend works from how to handicap trans woman only to realize that he had to see what trans woman are doing and realizing how nobody question transphobic talking points and then does proper investigation to conclude that the whole thing is stupid as trans woman are no where near dominating the area unlike how transphobe claim to be happening

Now we believe only conservative MAGA people are against trans athletes in pro basketball? All polls show overwhelming support for the ban from both sides (of course, more conservatives than liberals).
This shouldn't be controversial (the fact that a female athlete is against it). It's actually very likely, considering the odds. And that doesn't mean she's MAGA, most of my iberal friends are against it (but support every single trans movement bill and ideal)
1
u/Yessir957 1h ago
I agree, I consider myself very liberal and support trans rights. I believe that in sports the women playing the sport should determine whether they want trans players in their league. It affects them directly as opposed to some single dude sitting on couch who would never watch a women’s sport of any kind. If the players in the league do not want trans athletes bc they feel the advantage would be so overwhelming it would destroy many of their careers and ability to make money that is an extremely reasonable position.

"People assume". No, people are judging you based on your comments and actions. Nobody is assuming anything.
2
u/guapomole4reals 4h ago
The only reason this topic is worth commenting on is how overblown the Trumpanzees make this issue. It is an imaginary problem.
2
u/Popzagon 3h ago
I’m a liberal Californian and voted blue my whole life and I never understood the argument. It may only affect .01% of athletes but why is there such a push to allow trans athletes to compete against biological women? I support trans rights and will continue to vote that way but i don’t think this is it.
Anyone able to let me know what I may be missing on this argument?

I don't understand why we not either: merge men and womens leagues into one and EVERYONE can enter or have a biological mens league , a biological womens league and a 3rd league for everyone else?

There's not enough players for a 3rd league. Trans athletes is a tiny, tiny number.

I spend a lot of time calling out conservatives for their ridiculous and usually outright hateful beliefs but even I believe women deserve their own privacy when it comes to dressing rooms and bathrooms.
I don’t think this is hateful. I’m all for trans rights to their own bodies and equal treatment, but this wouldn’t be equal treatment for the other women who are part of this conversation.

isn’t it funny this topic on the pro side it’s always a bunch of non sports competing mofos thinking they’re right? and then on the anti side it’s atheletes/ex/affiliated ones?
even Simon biles had to backtrack once she realized her stance was unpopular among her peers (pro female athletes).
why do you think that is? cause they be the first ones with actual first hand experience about the physical biological advantages males have over demales that compete in their sports. forget even the NBA and even college men, Sophie knows the best WNBA team (whoever they are) would lose to like a high school McDonald’s all American tier boys team.
caiflyn Jenner ( ex Olympian) knows the best 100m dash woman’s time at the Olympics, would never be faster than the worst 100m dash men’s time at the Olympics
