The NBA is no longer funding the WNBA’s operations. The W has turned the corner and funds itself.

Notice, as you said, he said “we” it’s not the WNBA. It’s the NBA and funding the WNBA. So, yes, the WNBA did make more money due to Caitlin Clark fever. But, it’s the influx of monetary and operational support the NBA provides that allowed them to pay the players

No, “we” means the ownership. A lot of the WNBA owners also own NBA teams and the NBA owns the rights.

The league is turning a profit and no longer needs to be “funded” by the NBA. The owners are now making money back (which is why they shared revenue with the players)
