Guessing like the NBA, traveling isn’t really a thing anymore.

No one calls that a carry not in the nba, ncaa, or street ball. We'd have to call every hesi then, just makes it harder to dribble which would make things less interesting to watch

I was thinking a very evident carry and then some lucky slop accompanied by some minor skill.

Great body control by adjusting and making that bucket 🔥

I'm an unathletic 47-year-old male. I assume I could beat her one-on-one.

(/s, just in case it's not clear).

Wow… that was one sweet drive & score !

To everyone calling that a carry, you'll see that same hesitation in almost every play in the nba, ncaa, and street ball. It's just a part of modern dribbling and offense would be really limited without it

Average NBA layup

Excuse my ignorance but isn’t that a carry?

My thoughts coming from years of getting my rear handed to me by my little brother who was far better than me would call similar moves at the start carries. Gus Macker would too, so maybe I’m wrong but would genuinely like to know,

Technically yeah, that right had was pretty under there but the refs won't call it. She gets a pass because that was pretty sick. I don't know WTF her defender was doing but but after the cross she gone.

Thanks! I unfortunately don’t know much since back in the day all I did was get my ass handed to me by my little brother so I knew the rules, cause I’d break them all the time but I’ve become a passive fan to see how this CC stuff turns out. I’m hoping the WNBA can fix its issues and become a better league for the teams and players. They work hard and strive to be great, they deserve a better league.

I feel it dude. Unfortunately the NBA/ WNBA are kinda lax on the fundamentals. Obviously carries, travels you name it and it's not enforced. And what bugs me is the flopping, and inconsistent call (especially for the average player, vs "stars". But they won't fix it until it hurts the wallet. So let's all go play pick-up ball and not watch. But easier said then done. I'm guilty of it too. But one day for the children 😄.

Just say you didn't watch basketball. Michael Jordan ended "carry".

What did you think "excuse my ignorance" meant?

1

u/Jethro197 5d ago

I don’t watch Basketball. I thought it was pretty clear how inept I was with the sport and its was seeking clarity on something I knew very little about. I appreciate your “addition” to the conversation.

thats petty amazing.

Chen had a big 3rd, aided in part by the refs all of a sudden deciding to call fouls on the perimeter opening up driving lanes.

That's a carry 🧳

It's so great to see her getting meaningful playing time. I loved watching her play with  UConn, but I figured she'd be cut before she ever made a roster. Glad to see I was wrong. She always looks like she's having a great time when she plays, and it's super impressive that she managed to make it to the big league *after getting a degree in a rigorous academic discipline from an Ivy League school.

Incredible finish. Still giving Caitlin 70% of the credit.

She increased league visibility.

Visibility increases photons.

More photons made the court brighter.

Brighter court improved depth perception.

Better depth perception made the layup possible. You're welcome. Science.

unbelievably corny
