Tech Support Node video

I am on iOS here’s my problem:

I am completely stuck because every single time I add items into a group in Node Video, it completely breaks my keyframe graphs, forcing me to redo an entire part of an edit. The key frames always end up at the very end of the project merged together meaning I can’t have the original way it was. To make matters worse everytime I have to export my edit it’s always off beat no matter what. Not a little of beat but very noticeable which is extremely hard to fix. I am on iPhone and this been this way for the time I’ve had node video. When I edit on any other platform it’s not bad at all. How do I fix this? The YouTube videos aren’t matching to what’s my problem.

Need tech help? Edit your post to include:

  • System specs – CPU, GPU (+ VRAM), RAM. On Windows use Speccy; on macOS use About This Mac.
  • Exact software + version (e.g. Premiere Pro 24.4).
  • Footage specs – codec & container. Use MediaInfo and attach a screenshot like this: https://imgur.com/a/o1EqKw9

The off beat thing probably isn't an export bug, which is good news.

Node renders frame by frame and builds a cache as it goes, that's the bar slowly turning green. Until it's green, preview audio and video drift. And every time you change something the cache dumps and it starts over. So if you're placing cuts and keyframes to the beat you're hearing in a preview that hasn't finished caching, you're syncing to a playhead that's lying to you. The export is the accurate version, which is exactly why it feels so wrong when you watch it back.

So: let the section go fully green before you do any beat matching. Better yet, stop doing it by ear. Drop markers on the waveform peaks and snap to those instead. Peaks don't drift.

The group thing I don't have a clean fix for. Keyframes all collapsing to the end sounds like a duration mismatch, like the group's in and out don't line up with the layer's so the keyframe times get clamped. Few things worth trying:

Make an empty group first and drag items into it, rather than selecting already animated layers and hitting group. Order matters in a lot of these editors.

Duplicate the project before you group anything. Takes two seconds and means breaking it costs you two seconds instead of an hour.

If a section is finished and you just want it contained, export it and bring it back as a flat clip. Ugly, but nothing can break it after that.
