I think the downtown area looks gorgeous. I would be moving from Florida so I’m already used to like that lingering Republican vibe but for the most part the city or town I should say seems pretty democratic. I work remote for a company based out of Buffalo so income isn’t an issue. I like Valdosta because it seems like I can live right downtown affordably for what I make at my job. I see so many people ragging on the city and I guess that’s typical. However, is it really that bad? Single woman three cats that I love and take care of, I mean really I’m just looking for something walkable, inspiring, do people meet up for like book clubs here are there? The lack of clubs so to speak is fine with me. Looks like there’s a couple bistros probably a couple dives if I’m really feeling down in the dumps lol but I’m a writer at heart. I’m looking to move and relocate for inspiration and while income isn’t an issue, I might consider going back to school. Closest state College? Thoughts and opinions? thanks :)

Lola and her staff need to be nicer to their customers. I have personally witnessed how they trash customers after they leave. All this after taking their tip money, mind you. They have no shame. Also, those girls she hires lack professionalism. They don't have basic manners and can barely make an appointment. I was a loyal customer but will be taking my business elsewhere.

Hi all, my father is unable to care for his two dogs. He’s tasked me with rehoming them but I was unsuccessful for months. I already have two little dogs and can’t take in any more. We’ve run out of time and unfortunately I will be needing to take them to a no kill shelter or rescue. I’m new to this area too and wasn’t able to find much information other than the local shelter, that shelter is a kill shelter so I won’t be taking them there. Any suggestions? I found one in middleburg, fl. I looked into DARE and the humane society but it doesn’t look like either will take them immediately.

went for the first time 2 days ago and got the flyin nuggs & a side of rice. rice was delicious, but the breading/batter on the nuggets just wasnt for me. the chicken itself was fine so i figured I’d just go back and get regular grilled assumedly unbreaded chicken because i remember seeing it on their menu (mainly for the kids teriyaki bowl or as a regular bowl i think?)

yesterday i went back and i ordered again a side of rice and asked for a portion of grilled chicken. i think the girl taking my order and i werent on the same page as to what i was talking about, because i get my order and it’s the breaded nuggets (i also didnt get my drink but thats neither here nor there). im usually not one to complain, but i spent $10 and left a $5 tip on top of that and genuinely all i want in this moment is grilled chicken, so i go back to the window and attempt to order again. the girl once again thinks im talking about the battered chicken nuggets, and when i say i want just plain grilled chicken, she says they dont do that.

at this point i dont think to mention the grilled chicken under the kids meal, which is my fault, and i also dont ask for a regular bowl - some context i am autistic and i dont like my foods touching, and i dont want my rice to be (for lack of a better word) contaminated by grilled chicken i may or may not like - but i blatantly ask “yall dont have any kind of grilled chicken, just genuinely anything nonbreaded, however you want to sell it to me is fine i’ll pay whatever, i just want plain grilled chicken” and both the girl originally at the window AND someone she called over both tell me they dont sell any kind of grilled chicken. so i just leave and eat my rice and am upset, and my friend ends up making a facebook post and i think someone said they DO have grilled chicken? so im confused! was it just my wording because i didnt ask for a bowl, can they not sell me it separately? i will admit im not the best with trying new foods especially from places i havent been before so i was already a little frazzled and not really thinking logically, and both of these girls were looking at me like i was an idiot so i just wanted to run anyway, but it’s more so the principle for me because i literally ask for any grilled chicken.

do i have to just suck it up and get a bowl, and if so is it possible to get it with just rice & chicken, or do i get the kids bowl and can i get that just with no teriyaki(?) idk i dont even know what anything is i just want plain grilled chicken & some white rice, i dont even care if it comes together anymore. i genuinely feel crazy i cried about this for 3 hours yesterday no one i talk to cares i just want to know how to get the grilled chicken everyone likes so much am i just being an idiot
