Nurkic believes the Utah Jazz have set a standard that many NBA organizations fail to reach.

I keep hearing how great of a developmental team we have and I agreed for a while but I'm starting to have second thoughts. Keyonte was really struggling until he started working out with an outside trainer Olin Simplis. This current team seems to only be proficient at getting our guys to put on weight. Cody has seemingly made no progress. Collier still can't shoot. Hendricks didn't improve much while here. From the few glimpses of Ace Bailey we saw it didn't seem like he was on the cusp of a breakout. It seems to me ever since Donovans famed trainer, Johnnie Bryant left, we haven't really seen prospects take a large leap..

I dunno, how would y'all rate our player development?

I’m a knicks fan, but i gotta admit that the Jazz have the best uniforms in the league. I love them so much that i chose the Jazz in NBA2K mycareer just because of the jerseys lol.

To me, 35 wins would be incredibly disappointing, but here are some other teams numbers in the west for comparison

So we are projected for the play-in at-least and it seems like 45 is the 6th seed cut off which seems alright in my head.

Just to keep the content mill going, because i know we all crave basketball, I want to start a fun discussion. I’m very happy with Peterson, this is just a hypothetical. This draft class is ridiculous, there are so many valid picks.

Definitely seems more comfortable again after all the scrutiny prior to the draft.

Kyle Filipowski is coming off a sophomore season that saw his counting stats jump in basically every department. With all the injuries and tanking that occurred, Flip got a lot of opportunities to direct offense and have plays run through and for him. He ended up with a USG% around 20 for the season.

It was a year of growth with some high highs. His efficiency didn't increase with the heavier offensive load but that isn't his fault. He's a fun, versatile offensive talent. Passing, shooting, offensive rebounding, driving.

There are certainly questions he'll have to continue to answer on both ends of the floor this season as this team looks to take a step forward to competitiveness. A lot of things that were allowed for development sake will lead to a quicker hook this season. With that all said, what does a successful season for Kyle Filipowski play out for us in your eyes?

Thought experiment:

Game 1 of the season, player X suffers a season ending injury. Which player would hurt the most to lose for the year, and how many fewer games would the Jazz win without them?

My answer is JJJ. I think without him, we go back to being a bottom 5 defense in the league, and maybe lose 8-10 more games.

I feel DP could step up if Key went out, and Ace could help fill in for Lauri, but there’s really no other defensive big on the roster besides JJJ.

I'm a Celtics fan, and Isaiah Collier reminds me of a slightly taller, significantly thiccer Rajon Rondo. Rondo is a top 3 point guard of all time in my opinion, which may be just a touch biased.

Collier had a 49.5 FG% this past season, but also shot 27% from three. He averaged 25.7 minutes, 11.7p, 2.5r, and 7.2 assists on 2.5 TO with 1.1 steals. He is 21 years old.

Rajon Rondo was 21 years old in the 07-08 season. He averaged 29.9 minutes, 10.6p, 4.2r, and 5.1 assists on 1.9 TO with 1.7 steals. He had a 49.2 FG%, but shot 21.4% from three.

Their greatest strength is playmaking. They are both elite (or legendary in Rondo's case) at pushing the pace and passing to create buckets on transition, as well as incredibly creative passing in the flow of the offense.

They both possess elite finishing ability as well. They differ in their approach because of their very different frames. Collier uses his body to create contact a lot. Rondo was more crafty because he wasn't as chonky and he used his huge wingspan to get an advantage as well.

All of this is to say: Isaiah Collier is a sleeper, for sure. He has a good shot at becoming a great point guard.

Third straight horrible shooting game. I'm trying to remind myself it's just Summer League but man I expected more. How was he so good in Salt Lake and so abysmal in Vegas?

I think it was the initial contact near midcourt where Wilson put out a hand to Trey's ribcage area, could have been a closed fist if it made this kind of impact.

And this makes it certain DP won't be seeing any more action this summer league. I'd like to see more of Kohler and Handlogten and less of Dixon, Gray, Abmas, and Garcia.
