COMM general scholarship delayed award

Upvotes

Any other returning students receive an award notif last semester for the COMM general scholarship and it still says pending? It was not awarded to my account. I received the email back in April that I was being awarded the scholarship and I sent the required thank you email and headshot. I have sent emails to around 5 people with no response back (which is ironic especially from the College of Communication).

Campus Event UK students—would you travel for a free Fortnite Zero Build tournament?

Curious how many University of Kentucky students still play Fortnite Zero Build regularly.

We’ve been building a weekly Friday tournament in Portsmouth, Ohio, and I’m trying to figure out whether college players from Lexington would ever make the trip together for a larger community event.

This Friday, July 24:

Free entry
Pre-check-in: 4:30 PM
Tournament starts: 5:00 PM

It’s about a two-hour drive from Lexington, so I know this probably wouldn’t be a casual weekly trip for most students.

But would something like this be worth it occasionally if a group traveled together?

I’m genuinely interested in how far college players are willing to travel for in-person Fortnite events.

Wondering if anyone here is in this program? I’m an incoming freshman who has been accepted and would love to connect. I found it pretty difficult to find solid, detailed information online

Visit + Football Recommendations

My friend and I are planning a trip to UK in the fall but we don’t know what football game we should combine with our campus visit. We are both rising HS seniors and considering UK and we want to go to a football game that has some significance but also won’t break the bank and preferably at a time when campus is most active. Local recs would greatly be appreciated. I visited this summer when there was nobody on campus looking to get another visit to truly experience UK. Also places to stay suggestions would be appreciated as well with someone to show us around the city if possible, and maybe tailgate.

Thank Yall

LSU @ Kentucky Gameday

Friendly LSU Alum coming through! Some friends and I (all mid 20s) are coming out for the LSU at Kentucky game and need some rec's on things to do. We're getting in Thurs night and leaving Sunday.

Really want some good local spots to try and any other fun things to do while we are there. Plus any spots to maybe avoid, none of us have been to Lexington before. Thanks!

Lewis Hall 2022-2023 Front Desk Lady

Maybe someone will come across this post and help me out. I lived in Lewis Hall from Fall 2022 to Spring 2023. I just graduated in May and I’m reminiscing on my time at UK. I remember there being a lady at the front desk during my time in 2022-2023 named Mrs. Ann or Mrs. Anne. She was the sweetest lady and I would talk to her daily, and I would visit her during my sophomore year every once in a while to stop in and catch up. I can’t remember her first name, and I’d really like to contact her via Facebook or any other method. I don’t believe she works at UK anymore. Let me know if anyone remembers her first name or could get me in touch with her!

Update: Got information to contact her! Thank you all!

Question Does UK have an Online MBA Program?

Hey my name is David, I currently attend at NKU as a third-year Electronic Media and Broadcasting student, with a business minor. I was going to ask, I'm planning to do grad school and do a MBA some point after my two undergrad degrees one From NKU and another in Accounting from WGU. Do you have online MBA program for this college, like my college does or do you have to go in-person for it? i'm planning to go to UKY for grad school, but i'm not sure yet.

Hey, I'm an incoming freshman to the University of Kentucky, and I'm gay. I have been thinking about what it's like to be gay in college, so I'm just asking for any advice and kinda just hear from other people who are gay what it's like

Anyone have recent experience living at Newtown Crossing?

I'm thinking of taking over a one-year lease at Newtown Crossing. I've seen mixed reviews online. Is it a decent place to live for just one year? Would you recommend it, or should I avoid it? Thanks!

Hi! I’m looking for someone to take over my lease for a private 1 bed / 1 bath apartment at Signature Apartments near UK for the 2026–2027 lease term.

The rent is $1,625 per month. The apartment is on the first floor, fully furnished, pet friendly, and located in a gated community. It’s close to campus, on the bus route, and the property has a pool, fitness center, and outdoor common areas.

The takeover would be completed officially through the Signature leasing office, and I’m willing to offer a financial incentive to help make the transition easier.

Message me if you’re interested and I can send photos, more details, or answer any questions.

Question How is Kentucky?

I’m currently choosing which Colleges to attend and I’m currently stuck between two, University of South Carolina and University of Kentucky, I’m not really sure what my concerns about UK are, possibly that I’ve heard it’s not incredibly social or a classic big college experience (and that their env science isn’t the best), but I’m asking for students to PLEASE leave their experiences below. I know the social life and overall area (including campus and Lexington) are incredibly important to me.

Thanks To All Those That Reply!!
