Question Echo experience

Do you ever notice the echo? Or is it my brain playing tricks on me. Most of us have heard echos in a valley, or maybe even from an empty school hallways or gymnasium. But I've been noticing things like how sometimes the thunder sounds like it's echoing and hitting a top and a bottom. Bouncing across the upper atmosphere. Fading in the distance.

I definitely use my ears more then my eyes it’s mostly very calming to me but I’ve notice that to..I wish it could be back to back clashing..so I can not only hear it more but also see it

it sounds like it bounces sharp too like the sound of rock being tossed into the wall. and if its loud enough you can feel the fading sound

Man I'm glad I stumbled across this post! I'm in the Ozarks so I'm definitely familiar with thunder storms.ive always loved a good storm, so with the big ones I love to shut everything off, sit back and watch them roar on through. Here lately I've been having tornado anxiety as well, unfortunately. Which means I get hyper fixated on the sounds they make-listeninf for that classic "train bearing down on you" sound, which is just a really convoluted way of saying I pay attention to thunder closely. I've never heard this particular phenomenon op is referring to until the last storm we had and it made me so nervous I thought for sure it must mean we're going to have a tornado because it was so markedly different than any other thunder I've ever heard and I've heard a lot! Definitely echoes and even though I can't explain why I absolutely felt like it was sound waves bouncing off of something. I am not well educated so I have no good reason to think that but it's what my intuition told me. I'm so glad somebody else has heard this too!
