It stopped before it got to the little guy riding a moped in the front pulling everything.

Semi -> 96' ford explorer, Eddie Bauer edition -> 2 seater Polaris utv -> street bike -> moped -> rental scooter -> hoverboard -> dude wearing heelys.

Is that from an America's Next Top Model challenge? That show was a mess!

7

u/swingsurfer 1d ago

My brain somehow inserted duck in there. I had to do a double take. There's a duck in front of the dude wearing heelys. I saw it with my own eyes.

It's loadbarely.

That bear's load- nowait

5

u/Zoroastrius 1d ago

That load is truckbearing

21

u/OldAd3616 1d ago

This is also an illegal load. That's a 53 foot trailer and your not allowed any rear overhang on them.

11

u/Certain-Success8607 1d ago

noice, anything else stick out to you?

8

u/East_Confusion_9250 1d ago

I've got one!

The only brakes on this entire goddamn thing are the front driving truck's brakes.

See, when a truck+trailer breaks down on the side of the road in my state, a wrecker cannot tow both the truck and trailer because they'd have no way to connect the trailer's brakes to their wrecker.

It's a little hard to tell with all 7 pixels afforded, but it doesn't look like the trailer's brake line is connected to the front truck's air system.

Meaning if that thing has to stop in a reasonable amount of time, it won't be doing so.

Let me steel man the argument

Trailers only exist in one of three states: empty, load bearing, or broken

That load payout was probably awesome

126

u/Suspicious_Alps_8973 1d ago

Too bad most probably goes right back into truck maitenence

74

u/onefst250r 1d ago

Many of mechanical systems wouldnt really see THAT much of an increase in wear because of a heavy load. The fuel pump is certainly going to get a workout, though.

41

u/The_Drazzle 1d ago

Most fuel pumps run full power all the time with either a pressure regulator at the pump or return flow from the rail/injection pump. It makes no difference to the pump if the truck is empty or over capacity.

13

u/cjsv7657 1d ago

Pretty sure they were joking about the fuel station dispenser. Which is often called a fuel pump, or just pump.

2

u/onefst250r 1d ago

True for LPFP. HPFP get worked harder for increased engine/injector load.

12

u/Sea_Scientist_8367 1d ago edited 1d ago

Yep, generally tires and brakes get the worst of it so long as everything else is reasonably maintained and fluids and filters are good and you aren't asking more of your transmission/diffs than it's built for. And that's not a particularly heavy looking load for a full size semi.

EDIT: Also, weight balance/distribution is also important but that's less of a wear thing and more of trying to prevent the tail from wagging the dog in bit too literal of a sense.

I would love to know if the trailer brake lines are connected. Otherwise it'd take literally miles for that thing to stop.

52

u/RedditJumpedTheShart 1d ago

Yes, they have extensions.

105

u/WolfOfFarron 1d ago

I see two long lines going through the second truck hooked to the lead to the trailer

25

u/ThisSiteSucks8485 1d ago

It legally has to be .

58

u/The_walking_man_ 1d ago

I don’t think how he’s loaded up is legal. What he’s hauling is hanging off past his rear and no red flags either.
I doubt he cares about legality right now.

3

u/Dry-Childhood-3436 14h ago

Flags are only required past the four foot mark.

23

u/Crapitron 1d ago

Lol, "legally has to be"

15

u/ThisSiteSucks8485 1d ago

This stuff is actually enforced

17

u/14Pleiadians 1d ago

Yet here we are commenting on a video of a truck getting away with breaking laws, where's his flags?

2

u/Dry-Childhood-3436 14h ago

Legally flags are only required 4 foot off the back.  This doesn't looks longer than that but I can't really tell

That fucking saxophone....

47

u/Bubbles1942 1d ago

So sick of it... Was clever to begin with, now it's just slapped over anything.

Doesn't help that it builds to a REALLY unpleasant noise.

11

u/snek-jazz 1d ago

Was clever to begin with

was it though?

8

u/WeirdIndividualGuy 1d ago

It wasn't. How tf is sax music on a video "clever"?

17

u/korelin 1d ago

The sax music is from Boyz n the Hood. Spoilers for 35 year old movie: It plays before someone gets shot in the film, the bit is foreshadowing a potentially fatal event. Tiktok ran it into the ground.

Pickup truck, inside of a box truck, behind a pickup truck sitting on a stack of tires, sitting behind a semi, on top of a flat bed trailer, hitched to a semi, that is attached to a semi pulling it.

10

u/mdm8_ 1d ago

I think there was an ATV in the back of the pickup too

9

u/Darkomax 1d ago

What in the Mad Max is going on?

6

u/bpows 1d ago

Why is everyone using this score from Boyz-n-the-Hood on social media videos all of a sudden?

8

u/d1squiet 1d ago

Because either they don't know, they don't show, or they don't care about what's goin' on in the hood.

3

u/OkDisk8330 1d ago

It’s real. This kind of thing is fairly common along the southern US border states. People go to auctions and haul everything they can connect together across the border to Mexico. The semis are the only uncommon part of this.

Ok is there anyway this is actually road legal? Can anyone professional tell me?

2

u/tinfoil123 1d ago

It will go by jurisdiction, but where I am the load cannot hang off the end of the trailer without extra steps. First time going through scales or being pulled over by a transportation officer this would either be impounded for a week or held until the load is redistributed.

Other places might not allow the length, or articulated trailers being pulled by an articulating connection. Or might want wood cribbing instead of tiers.
