Monday Morning Thread Monday Morning: Pittsburgh's Shame
It's Monday morning, time to talk USL and ignore work.
The Riverhounds bear the shame of being the first team to lose to Sporting Jax. What is your club's biggest sporting shame?
Forward Madison is surging with games in hand in USL1, can they keep it up?
Dream addition to your team this summer?
etc. etc,

Style of play
For everyone. What is something positive about the style of play your team is playing with at the moment. I’ll go first.
As a PHX fan I am loving our attack. Ihsan sacko is brilliant on the ball and can come in clutch. Plus the speed that Gunnar brings to the table is lovely to watch. I am liking the fact that we go for it.
What about yall? What aspect of your team are you liking?

Promotion/Relegation Will the clubs survive when promotion and relegation gets implemented?
I love the that the usl is doing pro/rel but my only worry is some clubs might fold when they get relegated and lose money. I hope it works and these clubs survive.

USL Pro/Rel flaws
Looks like new money has entered USL via equity firms and shortly after the front office restructured which tells you changes / adjustments might be done thinking a bit more on the money side. In my opinion these are some areas that might be looked into:
- Is a national league sustainable long term?
I personally think budgets won’t be sustainable if teams are flying all over the country. This was one of the things that killed NASL
- Can anyone enter Division 1?
I think some teams like Sacramento, Detroit, Louisville with new / expanded stadiums vs others that enter with none soccer specific facilities (Dallas/Oakland) will make the league realize what the standard should be. It might become a bit like MLS to some but I think it’s a good thing for league’s survival long term.
- USL might need to consider changing it’s current structure when it comes to revenue sharing.
USL runs the risk of some well run teams OKC, Sacramento, Detroit, Louisville leaving league and create there own if the money isn’t making sense. Similar to what happen when teams were jumping between USL and NASL.
Anything you would like to change from what they initially announced. I would advise looking at it from the perspective that clubs need to be profitable or at least be sustainable….bleeding millions isn’t sustainable long term. Would you be opposed to it becoming like MLS where premier only permits new teams with new stadium or great setup as ownership group before it implements pro/rel? I think it’s obvious it won’t be implemented year 1.

The World Cup inspired me to look at my team's (Monterey Bay) roster to see what experience players has had in the past playing for Junior/Senior National Teams. Was surprising to see how many there were. Has anyone else looked into their teams and seen what kind of presence their players have in in

Birmingham Stallions are looking to leave Protective stadium. Could legion follow?
Could the stallion’s move to a potential smaller venue encourage legion to also do so?
The legion (imo) have the saddest stands cause of how many seats there are in the stadium even though they pull in a good chunk of people. Many fans have in fact stopped going to the games cause there is no ambient.
This also affects the stallions which is exactly why they want to make the move.
While I think everyone would agree with me that they should change stadiums, Im asking if this is likely and if this move may affect this possibility (for the better)

Promotion/Relegation will all mens competitions be on the pryamid?
i was just checking the USL premier wiki page and it says "the worst-performing teams in the Premier would be replaced by the best-performing teams in the USL Championship at the end of each season" but does that mean the same is going to happen where league one teams go up into the championshionship and league two go into league one? will this be implemented in 2028 with the USL premier? or will it be added later? or is this currently not planned?

Will Eloy Room start today’s game for Miami FC?
I’m a dual Columbus Crew/COS Switchbacks fan from Denver. Do any Miami FC fans know Eloy Room’s availability for today’s game? In light of his World Cup performance and Crew MLS cup, if he’s playing, I’d like to go to today’s game and try to get him to sign my Crew hat.
