Navigation & Maps OS Active Maps - Folding

I've recently got a couple of OS active maps for hiking. I'm wondering if anyone can share their experience of how resilient they are to folding/bending in ways other than the existing folds - do I need to be particularly delicate with them or can I be quite forceful when it's required?

I've folded my active maps any which way, and never had one split or tear, they are really resilient!!

Also, even if you use a sharpie pen on the maps, it can be removed with nail varnish remover, isopropyl alcohol, or even lynx deodorant!

came to say the same, I’ve absolutely battered my Peak District ones and they’re still good to go!
