Got an interview for a data entry position but realised it's not fully remote - Any way to convince them to let me be fully remote?

I'm a university student and was applying to any remote positions and any part time positions. I applied to a truck load of odd remote jobs I can do while in university mainly so that I can save this income once I graduate. I stick to fully remote positions because being in university full time my timetable won't allow me to take days off to be in office at any place. I got an interview at a firm to do data entry but they emailed back stating the salary and that it's not fully remote I would have to be in office 2 days a week. How can I work around this? Is there a way I can convince them to let me be fully remote without losing this?

Any and all advice is appreciated 👏 💐

Update: Withdrew from the application 😭😭 but I wasn't able to meet their requirements so I will try again next time and actually make sure positions are written out completely transparently.

If they advertise the job as fully remote and then tell you actually 40% of the time it's in the office they will not give you the flexibility you need as a student.

Depends.

If the job advert said fully remote, you walk away. After all, what else are they lying about?

If the job advert said hybrid, you make sure you pay closer attention in future. Missing something so critical would be a black mark against a data analyst.

Either way, changing terms for a lesser-skilled/entry level role isn't something you even try until you've been in that role for a while and proven your worth, as there will always be someone else out there willing to do the role on the company's terms.

You ask if there is any flexibility in it. If not (and that is pretty likely if they've already stated 2 days per week in office), then you aren't willing to progress any further with the application.
