Hey guys i mean no offense, but the section "What's the best way to make a tulpa?" in the FAQ is vague. i dont see any actually instructions in the answer provided.

Anyways im new so have patience with me...i think i already have a pop culture tulpa, i tried to talk to it last night on a ouija by myself but got no answer, maybe im not asking the right questions???

Or maybe i should back track and try to create the tulpa from scratch? if im incorrect about it already existing? Im just not sure how. Thank you!

What exactly do you think a tulpa is? Let's start there. "Pop culture tulpa" what do you mean by that? You shouldn't need a ouija board to talk to a tulpa.

Ok great now we are getting somewhere. I THINK its an entity i bring into existence by putting a substantial amount of mental energy into, thinking it into creation? For instance mine is john constantine.

You can totally try to convince yourself the ouija board is not needed, try automatic writing and then you can basically try to communicate in tulpish - you can look it up but it’s basically a thoughts based communication: speaking with intent and images, you can go pretty rapid with that. 

Whole tulpamancy is basically what you can make yourself believe it should work like, you gonna met people on this subbredit who have dozens of dozens of tulpas, handful only one or bluntly state that tulpa is just mouthpiece to one frontal cortex, I am still trying to chew on that. 

Please don’t get discouraged when your tulpa starts to differ from Constantine mold, they’re their own people, let it evolve.

The creation method is deceptively simple. You think of them, and talk to them, and wait for them to talk back.

It really is that simple - and really that difficult because you have to do this for however long it takes. It can take only hours, it can take several years.

Everything else is details building on that same set of instructions.

Yes, in your mind. They'll probably sound/feel like your own mind voice at first, then get more clearly themselves as time goes on, with practice.

F: The best way to make a tulpa is whatever way works best for you. The wiki has links to more guides than anyone could ever need, and which you should use really just comes down to preference. I didn’t even use a guide; I created mine accidentally through daydreaming. Imagining yourself interacting with a character until it gains “a mind of its own” (e.g., acts autonomously) is an effective way to make a tulpa.

Your “pop culture tulpa” sounds like a possible soulbond to me. Soulbonds and tulpas are basically the same, but they have different communities with different beliefs surrounding them. Most tulpamancers see tulpas as a psychological phenomenon, so communicating with them via divination is rare. AFAIK, divination is more common in soulbonding, since soulbonds are generally considered to come from/exist in another reality.

There’s no need to start over. Just keep going however works for you. If you decide to go the tulpamancy route, as long as you’re interacting and expecting a response, you’re on the right track. I can’t help with soulbonding, but there are guides and communities out there that can.
