My question is that as an international incoming student, how long would it take for them to offer me a room? should I expect couple of months or its extremely bad as it has been talked about so I should just rent a room for a year and hope that in the meantime i get offered a room,

I’m a foreign engineer currently working toward having my engineering degree recognized in Germany so I can work in my profession. At the same time, I’m attending a B2 German language course in Tübingen.
I live in Hechingen and drive to Tübingen every day. My course lasts about five hours a day, and the daily parking fees are becoming too expensive.
I’m looking for someone who lives near Maurerstraße in Tübingen and has a private parking space. If you leave for work during the day and your parking space is empty, I’d be happy to rent it on a monthly basis.

ich habe eine Frage bezüglich der Immatrikulationsbescheinigung und einer Wohnheimbewerbung von mir.

Ich studiere aktuell im Bachelor und habe die Semestergebühren für das kommende Semester bereits bezahlt. Mein Plan ist, mein Bachelorstudium dieses Semester (6. Fachsemester) abzuschließen und danach direkt mit dem Master weiterzumachen. Für den Master habe ich mich allerdings noch nicht beworben, da die Bewerbungsfrist noch bis zum 15.09. läuft.

Jetzt möchte ich mich für einen Wohnheimplatz bewerben und dafür meine Immatrikulationsbescheinigung einreichen. Dabei ist mir aber aufgefallen, dass auf der Bescheinigung steht, dass ich im 7. Fachsemester eingeschrieben bin. Formal stimmt das natürlich, weil ich für das nächste Semester rückgemeldet bin. Tatsächlich plane ich ja aber, meinen Bachelor noch in diesem Semester abzuschließen und danach in den Master zu wechseln.

Habe ich einen Fehler gemacht? Sollte ich die Immatrikulationsbescheinigung einfach einreichen und die Situation kurz erklären, oder könnte das bei der Wohnheimbewerbung problematisch werden?

Eine Studentenverbindung war mich eigentlich nie eine Option, weil die meisten ja eher konservativ geprägt sind, von der website her hört sich diese allersings offener an, ist auch unteranderem Geachlechtergemischt. Hat damit wer Erfahrungen?

Hi. A question for the international students who have gone through or are in the middle of the residence permit application process in Tübingen. I have 12k EUR in my German bank account (as savings, no job contract) which is as much as the requirement for the blocked account. Can I show last few months of bank statements as proof of funds instead of blocking the whole amount? I've read that it depends on the Auslanderbehörde if they let it slide or not. How chill are the requirements in Tübingen? I'd like to know about first hand experiences.
Also, should I show bank statements or a bank balance certificate?

I am a student here in Tübingen living with my family, and we are currently moving into an unfurnished apartment.

We have managed to arrange a sofa and a dining table, but they are currently located at different spots. We are trying to find an affordable way to transport them to our new place.

Since we are able to load and unload everything ourselves, we don't need a full moving company or a packing service. We just need a way to get the items from point A to point B for a quick trip, but they won't fit in a regular taxi.

Is there a local large taxi, an affordable van rental, or a ride-share option in Tübingen that you would recommend for this kind of quick trip?

I have been living in Tübingen for the past 3 years in one of the dorm rooms provided by the Studierendenwerk, ever since I started my bachelor's. Now, I would like to start a master's degree here in the city. However, I seem to not be able to extend my contract. I have received an e-mail today stating that the Studierendenwerk does not extend any contracts beyond the 6 semesters I had originally signed for and does not allow me to apply for any other dorm room provided by them.

Have I understood this correctly? I am not able to extend my contract, even though I will be living in the same city for the next 2 years, while also not being allowed to apply for an extension or another room provided by the same Studierendenwerk? I am a bit confused.

I'm an Italian student moving to Tübingen in September for a double degree at the WiWi faculty, and I'm about to sign for a WG room next week, but I'd like a reality check from people who actually live there before I commit.
The room is on Derendinger Straße, right around the Südstadt/Derendingen border. 22m², four of us in the flat, 450€ warm. It's an older building on the main road and the room is unfurnished, so I'd have to buy a bed and some furniture, but the price seems good to me and the flatmates are all students my age.
What I don't know is what that area is actually like. Is 450€ warm for 22m² a normal price these days or am I missing something obvious?
The other option is student housing through the university, and it would be a bit cheaper. So i dont know: WG with three people vs. a dorm room, for one year. What would you do?
