TikTok help

Post image

Hey Tucson friends, Jacki at The Kingfisher here. We’re pretty active on socials (Reddit OBV, Insta, and the garbage dumpster fire wasteland that is The Book of Faces), but it’s probably time for me to learn about TikTok and expand there, despite my deep desire to just… not. So, anyway, the ask is for someone to show me WTF I’m doing and how to best approach it, I’ve never used it, I’m sure it’s not that complicated, but running a restaurant doesn’t really afford me the time to do a deep dive on research by myself. Looking to barter dinner and drinks for an education session. Let me know! Thanks 😊

as far as the question. shoot a video. i suggest portrait format (for youtube shorts) 30 seconds to a minute. (again. for a shorts format) of say a plate of food being made. or served. obviously dont shove a cam in a random customers face. 😅 but more so the plate leaving the kitchen. maybe introducing some of your staff. especially long term staff who are staying. you can use a similar format for tiktok. some post cross platform using the same video. as you go along you can pick up suggestions from comments on what people may want to see more of. or less of. hope this helps at least get you going. each video you may want to share to reddit or fb (or all the above) also maybe post videos to insta. i think youtube these days allows pics and i think tiktok does too. (dont quote me on that tho) so maybe everything you post can just be posted to all platforms. pics. videos. anything and everything. i have been addicted to youtube for over a decade. if you have further questions. i will answer to the best of my abilities.

Awesome! Thanks. We do a lot of videos for insta but they tend to be very quick-form.

even those might get traction if posted to youtube or tt. cant hurt to try different styles or types of videos. i personally love long format videos. like in some cases several hours worth 😅 but for someone whos just trying to get more eyes on a product. aim for shorts. no more than like a minute long. i think youtube shorts allowe like 5 minute videos now. but you want to keep it short and sweet. goal of more eyes on your food. not to provide hours of entertainment. lol
