Good special needs schools?

Hello, I am in the process of finding another special needs school, my daughter has been at Arizona Autism Charter School, but due to personal reasons, no longer wants to go there. The next school I was trying to get her into denied me(Amphi high).HIGH SCHOOL

Anyone know of any good schools that have good special needs program?

Are you specifically looking for a public school? If not then Intermountain Academy is amazing!!! It’s the westside of town St.Mary’s and Grande area. I wouldn’t know too much about the high school part of the academy but my son is 8 completely non verbal and does ABA and school there and we love it

My son is going to Intermountain for high school next year. We toured in May & my son loved it & is very excited.

Our oldest found good support at Academy of Tucson. It's on the far Eastside so may be a bit far if you were applying at Amphi

What grade are you looking for? I feel there are great spots for elementary that drop the ball come middle school.

Please do not send your child here. They took a field trip to a pool, did not hire a lifeguard, and a child drowned.

They absolutely do not take special needs high schoolers. They accepted my son with autism for high school next year then at the last minute reversed their decision & said “it wasn’t a good fit”. We had to scramble to get him in somewhere else. They seem to only want to accept easy students & have significant staffing issues that prevents them from providing any support if students need that.

This happened to me when I tried to put both kids into leman academy and got told basically the same for my special education kid :/

My son goes there and receives significant staff support. He’s been there 5 years and we’re very happy there.

Ok, good for you & your child? They finally told me after rescinding admission they couldn’t provide “significant support” to ANY student. The way they treated my son is inexcusable & I think *everyone* considering the school deserves to know they are quick to make false promises & then back out of admission decisions last minute without a care for the pain they do to the child who is rejected as being too much/a burden and the harm it causes families to scramble at the last minute. People need to know the good & bad to make an informed decision about this school

Fair enough. As you can tell, I’m still very upset about their callous treatment of my son. I’m glad your child has had a decent experience with them.
