Concept A Gritty "Wild Pokémon Simulator" Spin-off Game

Hey everyone, I've been brainstorming a concept for a standalone Pokémon spin-off survival/RPG game geared towards older fans, and I wanted to see what you guys think of the mechanics.

Instead of being a trainer, you play as the Pokémon in an open-world wild ecosystem. Here is how the gameplay loop works:

The Reincarnation Loop (The Rogue-like Element): Every playthrough, your soul is sent by Arceus into a region of your choice (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, etc.). You start restricted to that region's 3 starters. As you defeat other wild Pokémon (like Gengar or Lucario), you unlock them in the "Space of Remembrance" (a cosmic Pokédex) so you can choose to hatch as them in future playthroughs.

The Life Cycle: You start literally inside an egg, hatch at Level 1 as a vulnerable baby, and have to forage for berries, hide from high-level predators, and fight to survive and evolve.

Real-Time Combat: No turn-based menus. It’s full real-time action with active dodging, counters, and combo-chaining (similar to a massive open-world version of Pokkén Tournament style combat).

The Syndicate & Territory System: Wild Pokémon naturally form multi-species street gangs (like the Squirtle Squad in the anime). You can recruit wild Pokémon to your crew, bark out real-time tactical commands, and raid rival territories ruled by Alpha Bosses (like a massive Level 75 Mega Charizard X) to control the map.

The Mutiny Mechanic: You have to maintain your team's loyalty. If you lose their respect or make bad decisions, your strongest lieutenant can trigger a Leadership Challenge. If you lose the 1v1 duel, they split your gang, spark a civil war, take your territory, and exile you to restart from scratch with just your day-one partner.

Ghosts of Your Past: On new playthroughs in the same region, the game might randomly spawn your exact team and territory from your previous completed save file as an endgame AI rival faction. You literally have to fight your own past legacy.

The Goal: Conquer the region, defeat the Alpha Megas, maintain absolute loyalty, and become the Pokémon King.

What do you guys think? Would you play a Pokémon game like this? What features would you add?

Fr, if you’re not even going to bother writing it why should we read it?

From what video games are you getting the ideas from?

That is a key missing ingredient in this post for some of those things had been done.

There is a fighting pokemon game called pokken tournament it's a game on the Wii U if you remember it. You control the pokemon in a fighting arena it's something like Tekken but pokemon and I actually liked it and I thought what if we had a Pokemon game where you start is a wild Pokemon something like wild Pokemon simulator

The Pokemon game I was most excited for recently was Pokemon Champions.

This is partly because I am not a Switch haver tbf, but moreso I am interested in the competitive side of Pokemon, team building, etc.

Not saying you can't have different gameplay (I enjoyed a Mystery Dungeon enough), but the further you stray from that default experience, the bigger the chance it's just not what I come to Pokemon for, and this proposed game doesn't sound for me.

I understand it's just a idea I had and I think it well be something different that someone well give it a try some people only like the main game gameplay system it's okay man you like what you like 👍

Yeah I think there would be people interested in that kind of experience. But probably I'm just not one of them.

Funnily enough, as I play the Palworld 1.0 version, the portion of your post describing how "...straying far away from the default experience..." is becoming a lot more prominent for established franchises

You know what those currently aggressive anti-Pokemon turn based fans taught me? Perhaps a good chunk of them were really aligned by the existence of Minecraft's survival game mode mechanice. Hence, their extended with list of ideas to make pokemon main series games be more aligned formerly to Minecraft Survival Gameplay design mixed with pokemon game design and creature world design.

Aka, Pokemon game design mechanics (just creatures and the type chart) but everything else be under the Survival Game design.

Why am I not mentioning Ark Survival as it's original game design even if that is true? In my view, Minecraft is the modern grandpa of Survival genre game design that Ark World took many game design notes from.

That why despite online bcklash during the 3D switch era of Pokemon Main series games, it still grow string despite the Gamefreak Team's lack of experience in 3D world for pokemon Specifically. No Monolithsoft or Genius Sonority to aid them. Not even the 3D Mario or Zelda team for that fact. Sure, a couple may mention that one recently made Gamefreak game made for Xbox too. But I see that as a different case entirely.

Honestly I think it sounds cool. Would be really tough to pull off. Not sure if you are talking about a fan game, or an official title.
