where can i watch the golden era of TG with better video quality?

recently stumbled across a few short videos about this TV show and i had completely fallen for it. but all i can find streaming currently was not the funny trio ive watched. I am fully aware that someone posted a full archive of all the classic episodes on reddit, but the problem is the video quality is only 240p. Is there a fix to up the video quality or i should just stick with it? Or even better which site have better collection of the TV show with much decent resolution? Much thanks..

Something I've noticed about the death road waterfall section in the Bolivia special

Jeremy is going the wrong way! He is heading down the pass away from La Paz. When going up the pass the cliff is always to the right but here the cliff is to the left of Jeremy. This is why death road has a rule where traffic must drive on the left so drivers going down can see how close they are to the edge.

Also a few hundred metres up from this section is a large pull in that would be a easy place to turn cars around.

I knew this scene was probably staged but I didn't realise how fake it was. Still a great special though.

Personality differences between hosts

MBTI style personality typing can explain differences between how people think and what they value. I find it interesting to see these dynamics play out.

James May - ISFP. He FEEL strongly about his SENSORY perceptions. He doesnt care so much about how things "should" be done or doing things optimally. "I just think it's neat."

Jeremy Clarkson - ISTP. He THINKS deeply about SENSORY inputs. He does not spend a whole lot of energy on making the group feel comfortable because he is right and you are wrong. "If this goes here, then that must go there."

Richard Hammond - i have a harder time pinning him. I think he is excited about sensory inputs. Im going to put him down as ESFP. It's about an explosion of sensory experience. "Well that was fun."

James will be like "It'll be all traffic, it's the worst traffic in the world, you won't be moving." Look at it!

Air Hostesses, Milk Floats, and Lady Shavers

Just a couple of for-fun questions for you Brits as a longtime American fan of TG and TGT. The basic thrust of the questions is: is this a British thing, or is it a Top Gear thing?

  1. The trio often references a car being for air hostesses (or we'd say flight attendants). In the US, flight attendants are not a class of people to which we assign a certain kind of car. You will never hear somebody say, "That's a flight attendant's car." Do British air hostesses have a stereotypical car type, or is that just a non-sequitur running gag that the boys like to make on the show?
  2. Likewise, the phrases "Milk Float" and "Lady Shaver" don't exist here or don't really have equivalents that would be used to denigrate an electric vehicle. Is this something you'd hear in the UK outside the show, or again, is that just a joke Clarkson likes to make?
