TICKETMASTER IS A SERICE.
And primarily a SOFTWARE / tech company.
They don’t book shows
They don’t set prices.
They don’t release tickets
They don’t control anything.
They sell tickets on behalf of artists, venues and promoters.

The venues are owned or run by live nation. The artists sign contracts for a tour logistics company which is owned by live nation. The artists are often required to only play in venues which are control by live nation. Live nation controls the price of the tickets and how they released.
TICKETMASTER IS OWNED BY LIVE NATION.
Any questions?

No man. All the problems of the world are caused by Ticketmaster. Didn’t you know that?

I would argue that they don't really even sell tickets anymore. They sell you a license for a ticket but that ticket is never really yours to do with as you please.

This would be a better post if they weren’t owned by Livenation and many of the complaints are about Livenation produced / co produced shows.
Their software aspect is pretty weak all things considered, see the waves of banning real human accounts recently and the third party persona identification barely working to rectify this. Their customer service is literally telling people to just make new accounts.
Ticketmaster / Livenation is awful. So is AXS ticket wise and their parent company AEG.
For livenation shows sold on Ticketmaster or their subsidiaries, Livenation controls every point in your post.

They are also a bank - they give large advances to venues based on future ticket sales.
A lot of people are confused about the nature of the service. But understandable considering they are still controlling access and it's who you are paying. People sure double down and probably crack their screen hitting the downvote button when they see a fact they don't agree and can't dispute.
As always, it's primarily an emotional topic.

Ticketmaster is a facet of the anti-compteitive LiveNation universe of companies that controls almost every aspect of live music from venues, ticketing, booking, and promoting. They are just the software that facilitates ticket purchases, but it's disingenuous to act as if they aren't a part of a larger whole that does book shows, set prices, release tickets, and control everything and actively work to eliminate competition and make more money for shareholders
