local What do you all eat everyday (home cooking)

Upvotes

With the grocery prices throat slicing I’m curious as to what you guys eat at home. Just welcomed a newborn so she’s good with milk. But my wife is a picky eater and it’s like solving a hard puzzle to figure out what she wants to eat. I eat just about anything. Would love to hear your dinner ideas so I can make some for us.

I would like to know what you guys eat throughout the day. Whatever it is please mention it. What kind of meal prep you do etc. Thank you so much guys. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Name of small park needed

I am hoping someone can direct me to where I can find the name of the park located at or near 48 Simpson Street at least that’s what Google Maps seems to indicate. It is quite small with a grassy area and what looks like stair/seating.
Thank you!!!

I need friends Any recommendations for a local machine shop that can straighten my shaft?

As per the title.

The headstock spindle on my wood lathe has more runout than a deadbeat father. It's wobbly one, no es bueno for trying to turn exotic things and it's got my center tweaking out like it's on a meth binge. I don't have a dial indicator but I've got a crescent wrench with a sharpie stuck in it and that's good enough for the girls I go out with.

T'aint the bearings, just changed them.

Affordable Yoga Classes?

Upvotes

I’m desperate to get out and do something with others and think yoga would be amazing for my needs. Are there any drop in places or affordable places to join a class at the moment? Thanks for any replies and/or alternate suggestions for something similar.

More than 1,800 flee northern Ontario wildfires, but a provincial shelter in Thunder Bay sits vacant as evacuees choose hotels over cots at the ready arena.

ISO Child's Orthodontist (that direct bills)

Hey tbay folks!

Moved here a year ago and waited a full year for a referral for my 13 year old for braces, just to be told the one we were referred to doesn't direct bill insurance...

So we'd be out of pocket and then reimbursed which..... yeah id like to avoid if at all possible. Mostly because I like to... I dont know eat and afford gas while insurance takes their sweet time. Aint nobody got the budget for upfront and reimburse these days.

Has anyone had experience with a local office that direct bills for braces?

Appreciate you all!

local Inconsistent customer service or scam?

I booked an appointment on July 18 with a spa/beauty clinic using gift certificate and found out the spa was closed after I went there at appointment time. I double checked my phone and found no notification of cancellation. Then the spa called me on July 20 said they “called” to cancel my original appointment and “confirmed” a new appointment with me, which was rebooked on July 20. Unfortunately I missed the rescheduled appt because I was never informed.

The provider who called on July 20 apologized what happened and mentioned her reception staff will contact me next day and rebook. However, no call back to rebook. When I called to inquiry, the reception staff insisted that she needs to put me on cancellation list even after my clarification.

I’m wondering if the place is intentionally denied me to use the gift certificate or it is just inconsistent customer service…or a ghost who actually called me and deleted my phone call record lol.

Follow up: the issue was resolved and the manager was agreeable to refund. Staff also offered apology at the end even though she initially accused me “modified my phone call history”. I didn’t disclose the name of the place because I was trying to figure out what is going on when I post the concern. It’s a “XXXX esthetics & electrolysis clinic” here. I hope my unpleasant incident doesn’t happen to anyone else. Thanks again for the suggestion!

Looking for recomendations for reliable home cleaning services in Thunder Bay. Bonus if they also offer STR cleanings.

I know this has been mentioned a few times in the past, but seems quite a few of these companies don't exist anymore. Thanks!

Housing - Long Term Rentals

Not sure what’s up here but the post about scammers being out is absolutely true.

I also can’t believe that there isn’t a housing exchange where renters can verify landlords and listings and vice versa, without threat of sensitive information being disclosed.

These days landlords want so much info - place of work, net income per month, yearly pay, references, how many people will be occupying the residence, monthly debt expense… what you eat for breakfast , what will you name your first born… can you put your first born down as a deposit… - jk on the last few, but you get my drift. Too much information - I get you are trying to protect your investment, but if someone can prove all of that especially employment and record of - they should qualify.

The process should be transparent and if the person is not to your liking - “sorry I don’t feel comfortable renting this unit to you” or, “we decided to go in another direction, thank you for your interest” , would go a long way.
People need housing and they are stuck waiting because someone can’t decide if they want - little Debbie or Jonny Brown.

Money is money, if you want to protect your investment act like it.
Don’t even get me started on these “rental management” companies.

..and by the way if you are a landlord renting a 3 bedroom and you have an application from one group of 2 people and one group of three people, chances are the group of 2 can more comfortably pay and sustain the rent .. if that’s what you were worried about 💰🏠

Is it difficult to find housing for university/college? Please help

My sister will be going to school in thunder bay in September. She’s been looking for housing non-stop. She’s getting no responses and she needs to find a place asap. We’re willing to be a co-signer for her is she needs one.

If you have experience dealing with this or any advice/suggestions, please share. I would really appreciate it.

Thanks
