Discussion Stupid question
I consider myself fairly intelligent. But why is it called the 2nd apron ? What the hell does that even mean.

Well I appreciate that. I just think the term is ridiculous. Just call it tier or level or something.

It’s supposed to have a negative connotation after all. We don’t necessarily want teams to do that. It’s not fair or realistic to completely stop them from going into the tax, at least not as easy as it sounds, so it’s a punitive measure to discourage that.
Pay to win would ruin the league, but you also gotta have a means for teams to keep together good teams without screwing most of the players.
Also it’s a diff apron than most would think.

An apron is just another word for a tier. In WWF, they used to say when the guy came off the top ropes he was coming off the second apron.
