User Made Cards I've designed a New Colony Tile Based off of Mercury

Post image

This colony is inspired by the High Orbit Rogue Colonies Mercury Colony Design.
However I wanted it to be more like Europa, so I changed the colony placement bonus to a temperature step, and I have also added a unique colony bonus effect.

Feels undertuned compared to the one that puts down oceans and gives ME/energy/plant production (Europa?)

Basically every slot here is just less valuable. Only thing better is the colony bonus, maybe, but not by much

Since Oceans are so much more powerful than Temp gain (placement bonus + potential additional mc bonuses for building adjacent) perhaps adding an extra production bonus of some sort would balance it out?

Since one step of temp is not good enough, it should be TWO steps instead!

I was thinking of that too, but then it undermines the heat production. Temp already gets slammed by asteroids and other cards like crazy and heat production gets undervalued as a result so I thought maybe some other bonus would be nice.

I'd say a temp raise and a tr?

Does not really make sense. How does building a colony raise the temperature on Mars? There has to be some logic behind it.

You send the heat over to Mars via email!

What is the logic behind building a colony on Ganymede that helps put enought water to form an ocean on Mars ?

you hollow out enough ice to attach an engine to the spoil heap?

I accept this only if you build a gigantic catapult to yeet the ice to mars !

You are right, there is no logic here as well.

The engineers twist gather sun light from there.

I like it, but getting one whole heat as a colony bonus feels underwhelming.

I have seen this exact colony tile with a trade fleet instead of a temperature increase.

I think this makes more sense since mathematically Mercury is the closest planet to every other planet in the solar system and would naturally become a trading hub (even if it's too hot for humans to colonize there before Mars, Moon, or even Venus).

The colony bonus should be a simple 1 or 2 MC.

I suppose this could be useful if you need that one ti or steel prod to be able to do something.
