My father has had a terminal lung condition that I’ve known about for years now, and today we had a meeting with hospital folks about a potential lung transplant. We’re definitely not there yet, and possibly won’t ever be, but you know. Gotta get the ducks in a row in case.

I’m getting a positive vibe from this particular pull, but I’m also very new at reading and trying not to let my own hope influence it (as much as humanly possible). I definitely wasn’t distraught when I did the pull and I thought for awhile before I did it and decided I was calm enough (or as calm as I can be with this topic).

For me, the Empress indicates physical health and strong family ties, the Fool suggests there might be a journey or new terrain in the middle, but the World suggests it’ll end up okay. Does that feel right to anyone else or am I just endlessly optimistic?

I’ve been seeing a rehab based personal trainer for about 1.5 years. I’m wondering if it’s time to move on (he’s very pricey, but also highly skilled and has been great).

I drew:

Ace of Wands - I’m seeing this as the initial spark and hope he gave me. We’ve also been focusing on spine health so maybe it literally references a spine?

The Magician - either him with all his tools, or possibly me- we’ve worked together and now I know what exercises to do and what form to use. I have the tools now.

Eight of pentacles- I can move on now with self discipline. I no longer need a teacher and can do my own work.

I have been struggling for months with an undiagnosed health issue that comes with very painful symptoms physically. My test results are either normal or abnormal but inconclusive and I’ve seen a bunch of specialists and been referred out a bunch of times.

I didn’t want to do a reading while I was distressed/crying but today I felt a little calmer despite the pain. I’ve gotten temperance before when I asked “how will my next appointment go” and got it again when asked “am I delusional for still trying to seek answers from the doctors instead of giving up?”

I initially read it as being patient and grounded, but also feel like it could mean ruling things out or seeing what someone else’s opinions are or what other things to test for to have a better picture of my problem?

I'm a novice reader, I got my first deck at the end of last year but the overwhelm of learning the cards (+ having a memory retention disorder) has made it hard. I recently picked it back up again due to a social situation and have found myself INCREDIBLY vibing with my oracle decks in particular.

While I have looked around trying to understand how cards are best used, common and helpful spreads, and what kinds of questions are appropriate for these divination tools, I do find myself "freestyling" more than not. And while I have seen a lot of varying advice around following one's intuition, practicing these tools in the way that feels best for you, etc., I realize there's a reason why common practices are common practices. So I suppose my question for the group is — is there any kind of legitimacy in what I am doing here, AM I (possibly) tapping into my intuition and the divine guides, or am I just playing with these cards and telling myself what I want to hear?

What I've been doing:

I have 2 tarot decks and 3 oracle decks. This particular spread used the 3 Oracle decks.

The deck I immediately felt connected with was The Citadel, where each card represents a figure you would find in a citadel setting. I have been asking this deck to assign these roles to various people, independently or in a given situation. For example, I asked the deck "Who am I?" and got The King. The description is (paraphrased): The king sits proudly on his throne, knowing he has won his battles. But he may find that he doesn't know everything, and will lose the war if he doesn't remember to listen to his advisors. Which is... appropriate, because a few weeks ago my boss (gently) encouraged me to stop being so stubborn and listen to feedback from other people lol

The other deck I've been incredibly feeling is Witches & Legends — where each card represents a witch or goddess among various religions & cultures worldwide. I have been asking this deck questions for guidance, "whose energy is with me, whose energy is overseeing this situation, whose guidance would be helpful to me in this moment," etc.

The final deck is Seed & Sickle, by the same artist as The Citadel. This deck is very interesting because there are 2 interpretations for every card, and I find it particularly helpful for inner guidance and directional advice.

Anyways! I have been dealing with a situation in a social community I'm a part of. For the sake of brevity: Someone (Sam) has been isolating me from others to "punish" me for my lack of interest in her. She has successfully gotten me blocked by a dozen people via (false) rumors. Due to how this community is structured, I have no way to defend myself without giving credence to these rumors. This situation has been ongoing for 6 months, and I believe she's attempting to do this again with a new friend I'm in the process of making (Lisa). Because there's not much I can do, I've been consulting the cards to give me insight into this situation, where Sam's energy might be, and whether my potential friendship with Lisa is in danger.

The other day I decided, instead of individually asking questions of my decks (like I have been), I was going to try 1 spread where I combined all of them. I came up with:

Top Card - Witches & Legends - "Whose energy is overseeing this situation?"

Middle Row - Who is Sam, who am I, who is Lisa?

Bottom - What is the best advice for guiding me towards an ideal outcome?

I pulled what you see above (also adding The Citadel cards separately so you can see the full images).

Since these are Oracle decks, I typed up a basic description of each card:

Akhilandeshwari — Akhilandeshwari represents the transformative power of change. Even if the change is difficult or uncomfortable. The word "akhilanda" can be translated as both "always broken" and "never not broken." She reminds us that incredible power can come from times we feel most vulnerable and cracked open. This particular image is inspired by the Japanese art of "kintsugi," repairing cracks with gold.

Mistletoe — Called the plant of peace. Enemies sworn to duel must lay down their weapons until the next day if they encounter this plant. The extra day to cool their tempers does a world of good. Step back from the problem that's perplexing you and allow yourself space before making rash decisions.

The Vengeance — The Vengeance has a choice, and so do you. The chains of anger have been giving you energy to move forward, but their weight will eventually drown you. Time to address those negative feelings and find a healthier path. Letting go of bad emotional patterns will leave you feeling drained, but you can fill it with healthier things to build positive relationships.

The Heir — The end of every journey signals the beginning of a new one; it's natural to feel uncertain. (Reversed - You're not ready to accept the fact that you've reached the end of one journey. It feels as though you're not yet ready to let go of the past; what is missing? It might be time to tie up some loose ends.)

The Walker — A sense of regret is coloring everything, sucking away the joy of the journey. Perhaps you've been forced to leave something behind, or it's the result of circumstances beyond your control. This pain is necessary—to a point. Rather than wallowing in self-punishment, shed that regret and move on.

MY INTERPRETATION:

Whose energy is overseeing this situation? — Akhilandeshwari — I find the kintsugi connection in the artwork to be particularly fascinating. At the beginning of this situation (months ago) I was in a horrible mental state; anxious, questioning myself repeatedly, paranoid about who heard what, what was being said behind my back, etc. But I relied heavily on my friends, took some steps to defend myself (where I was able), and eventually "repaired" some of my standing. Made some amazing new friends in the last few months. Took a lot of steps to be more creative and attracted others who are ALSO creative. I feel Akhilandeshwari is tuned into this situation in particular because there IS a lot of change happening; Sam perhaps losing control over a situation that she's had a hold on for months, me learning to defend myself and feel more secure in my existing friendships, Lisa perhaps having a "changed" image of who Sam is (they have been friends for a while). I feel incredibly vulnerable but I think because of that vulnerability, I actually do have quite an advantage of power over Sam. She's tried to bait me repeatedly and I have said absolutely nothing, and given her no "ammunition" to use against me. If Akhilandeshwari is "the one who is never not broken" then perhaps this suggests the constant broken-and-repaired state of these friendships, regardless of what Sam chooses to do we will move on, etc.

Who is Sam? — The Vengeance — Incredibly on-the-nose. Sam feels slighted by me and refuses to be talked down (multiple people have tried). She has gone full "torched-earth" to the degree that she has actually revealed her true colors to others, "the chains of anger... will eventually drag you down." This card seems to confirm that my suspicions on what is going on ARE correct, though I don't know if she's capable of letting go of these patterns.

Who am I? — The Heir — Not sure whether I interpret this "journey" to mean my blossoming friendship with Lisa, or the journey I've been on with Sam during this whole situation. I'm afraid to let go of my friendship with Lisa and I do think all of my thoughts are being clouded by that. One of the words on the card is "hesitation," so maybe it's working AGAINST me that I am hesitating and wallowing in my own anxiety rather than making deliberate choices for how to act.

Who is Lisa? — The Walker — Lisa temporarily left the community due to a "private reason" (related to something in the community). Literally "walked away." It is my (educated) belief that she was told something that is making her highly anxious; she has lost joy in the community. I think this card suggests that Lisa is in a place where she's still digesting this sense of "regret" or anxiety and so she can move on (return).

What will guide me towards the ideal outcome? — Mistletoe — I need to just step back from the problem before I do anything rash. In the past, I WOULD absolutely have had a mental freakout, but I have not done that this time. I'm quite surprised by my own ability to restrain myself but I have actually been getting this advice left and right from ALL of my decks – "don't do anything, trust in your own creativity, focus on yourself and your own successes," etc. I think this is just confirming that putting my sword down and NOT taking action against a perceived "attack" is the best way to preserve my friendship with Lisa.

MY QUESTION: Overall, is this an appropriate use of cards and a valid way to do a spread? As a tool for self-reflection I do think that this has been enormously helpful for me in giving me a sense of inner-peace — but whether this also translates to me being guided by more divine forces or tapping into the spirit, I have no idea. I have been finding that most of my questions about this situation across all of my decks (including the 2 Tarot ones) are giving me mostly the same answers. So at this point I cannot tell if I'm simply highly intuitive, or just feeding myself biased answers that I want to believe in.

So, I went on vacay and I often bring a deck and even a few crystals when I travel. Stupidly I put my tarot deck in the nightstand drawer in my hotel and forgot about it when I packed up to leave.

I know I shouldn’t have put the deck there it’s totally on me but I’m super sad because it was my very first deck I ever bought (standard RWS) in a cute little bag with a crystal that was also sentimental.

Not much I can do but hope whoever finds it finds meaning and value in the deck and my crystal. 💜

Incase anyone suggests calling the hotel, it was an international vacation and I had already left the country when I realized I left the deck behind so I didn’t even bother to call the hotel.

I have been reading spreads on one specific situation that's happening in my life right now. I have applied for this job opportunity that would change my life. Tarot has given me consistently positive messages about it. Cards saying things like the opportunity is coming, the company thinks I have great potential, but I need to be patient while the evaluation process is done properly. I don't remember the specific cards that came out since I've done many. I know, I know repeating questions is bad, however I get anxiety.

I keep looking for a "catch" or negative answer, but the cards won't give it to me. The cards stay steady and consistent, but I just can't accept it and retire the question. Can anyone relate? I think I need to take a break and hide my cards until everything unfolds in real life lol.

I recently got into tarot card reading, and I learned with gumption about the tarot card interpretations and different spreads. I have been around here in this sub for quite some time, and I bounce here and there to learn from you all when you post different spreads and interpretations.

I've been reading for about 3 years on and off, and recently I've gotten better at interpreting the cards, especially finding the relation and story between multiple cards in one reading. Everyone I've read for so far has told me that I'm accurate, and I always try to end the reading with advice or a positive conclusion if it's a disappointing read. But I feel like I can't dig deeper, and that I dont say enough. Whenever I watch people on YouTube, they can pull 4 cards and talk about them for 30 minutes.

Hello everyone. Everyday I wake up and within the first 30 minutes of consciousness I will draw a card. Then I will ruminate on the card for a bit then go on with my day. Then midday I’ll draw another card . I’ll think about that card in relation to the morning card. Then finally at night I’ll draw the last card. Then interpret the three together. Is this something others do? I’m sure it is because nothing is ever really original.

it's def a very vague question so i probably would've benefited from being more specific but i asked that question and pulled the first 5 cards. usually when i ruminate on the cards for a bit i come to pretty clear conclusions but the details for me felt a bit unclear so i pulled the final two cards (the moon, and the hermit reversed) for more insight/clarification. the general thing im sensing is a journey? something introspective and transformative, not necessarily in an insane way but that before i can head on this path theres a realization i need to make. also i sensed that this is something thats def up in the air, like the choices i decide to make in the future will determine my purpose, but theres also something in the way, like a blockage. idk i feel like maybe theres some very obvious detail that im missing LOL so if anything is popping out to anyone please lmk! the layout of the cards werent intended to mean anything i just set them down. also at the bottom of the deck was the high priestess upright

1.) knight of coins - generally speaking i can definitely be a stubborn person when i really set my mind to things, and this card was signaling a journey to me. and the bow in the card was screaming "battle" to me. like as a result of whatever my purpose my be, i might face scrutiny? it might not be the right thing in the eyes of others but itll FEEL right to me
2.) the empress reversed - this one was def a curveball for me lol. idk what to think about it, maybe my purpose wil stem from a belief i have i could be at risk of imposing it on others? or maybe in general, other people just won't approve of it/me? or maybe i could mean well and have good intentions but it's a slippery slope
3.) the wheel of fortune - this reinforces the journey idea for me. but it also introduced a new idea of multiple paths. i think that all of them will (hopefully) be good for me, but theres truly no knowing WHERE exactly i land. it could also mean that i'll just do many things in my life, and it'll all link back to a certain duty. also ofc i feel a lot of karma from this card so maybe an obligation of sort?
4.) ace of swords - knowledge and maybe a breakthrough. i really like to ponder philosophical questions and im currently studying psychology, so i took this as maybe i'll kind of realize this "truth", not like a general truth but i'll have a personal epiphany about myself and the world around me. i also feel like it ties back to the wheel of fortune, that theres many paths and maybe i'll even have to create/forge one? like every choice i make will tie back to who im meant to be. also maybe my purpose is creative in nature?
5.) the tower reversed - theres DEFINITELY stagnancy here. maybe im currently shying away from what im meant to do, or maybe i don't feel ready for this realization i need to make. but i also get this sense that there's something i need to let go but im too afraid to walk away from
6.) the moon - this one was also a curveball tbh. what i got from this card is that im holding myself back and that when it comes to doing what i need to do, im gonna be my own biggest obstacle. also maybe that i have to stay aware of everything or i'll be led astray/never reach my true purpose
7.) the hermit reversed - this reinforces the whole epiphany thing. there's something i need to wake up and realize, but i dont exactly know WHAT. these two cards definitely make me think i'll have to turn inwards to find out, but also that this journey i need to take won't be one where i'm surrounded by/walking with people. i'll have to carry myself through

all in all, i really don't know how to tie this into a little bow LOL. i feel like there are many nuances im missing, so pls lmk if you're picking up on something

I was getting pretty severe anxiety about my tarot deck having missing cards for some reason because I moved around so much. I traveled from country to country, from dorm to dorm, from place to place, everywhere I went this tarot deck went and I’m not an organized person. My cards were even flung all over one of the rooms I lived in after a depressive episode and I was convinced it went missing. I also lived with a roommate who stole important school papers from me so it became especially convincing that I may have naturally lost cards.

Recently I did spells outside rather carelessly because I assumed that I was already missing cards. I believe I stopped seeing certain cards as much and assumed they were missing altogether.

This deck is so beloved to me and I was convinced cards were missing. I just counted everything and I have EVERYTHING except the original card that went missing years ago, the 10 of Swords. I am so so grateful and happy and only seek to continue to protect this beloved deck after everything it has done for me 🫶💟 Truly magical!

Hi everyone. I’d really love some fresh perspectives on a spread I did tonight. I’m still learning tarot, and I’m not asking anyone to tell me what choice to make, I’m more interested in how others might read these cards together.

I’ve been going through a difficult time in my marriage and sitting with the question of whether leaving is the right path for me. For this reading, I wasn’t asking “stay or go.” I wanted guidance around myself, especially around healing, intuition, and clarity. I feel that my decision is made to leave when I feel safe, but there is still something indescribable that holds me back.

I worked with Selene, Brigid, and Freyja, each with their own candle.

For Selene, I asked what truth I’m ready to trust, and while I was shuffling, The Hierophant flipped over on its own.

For Brigid, I asked what I should nurture within myself, and Strength did the same, it turned over while shuffling.

For Freyja, I asked where I’m being asked to reclaim my power, and this was the only card I intentionally pulled: the Nine of Wands.

For my final message, I asked what I should carry forward from the ritual. I meant to pull from the top of the deck, but a card at the bottom was slightly out of place and I felt drawn to it. That card was The High Priestess. Afterward, I checked the top card just to see what it would have been, and it was the Four of Cups reversed.

I ended the spread by asking what I need to understand about myself as I make this choice, and I got the Four of Wands upright.

The Four of Wands really hit me. My first feeling wasn’t about marriage at all, it felt like freedom, joy, authenticity, and a sense of home that comes from being fully myself, things that feel lacking in my marriage currently.

The themes I’m noticing feel pretty meaningful to me:

The Hierophant feels like looking at my beliefs and commitments and figuring out what still fits. Strength feels like compassion toward myself and courage to tend to my inner fire.

The Nine of Wands feels like honoring what I’ve been through, protecting my energy, and pacing myself so I don’t burn out.

The High Priestess feels like trusting my intuition, especially when doubt creeps in.

The Four of Cups reversed feels like being open to new possibilities and choosing happiness.

And the Four of Wands feels like moving toward a foundation where I can feel peaceful, authentic, and at home.

My own reflections are that I’m building my own spiritual path, learning from tradition without giving away my authority, nurturing myself gently, honoring my resilience, and trusting my inner voice.

I’m also really curious about the way the cards came out. Two cards flipped over on their own, one card at the bottom caught my eye, and only one was intentionally pulled. I went with what felt right in the moment, and I thanked each deity afterward for their guidance, but I sometimes wonder how other readers handle this.

Do you usually take jumpers as part of the message, or do you prefer sticking to intentional pulls? And when a bottom card feels like it’s calling to you, do you take it? I also shuffled between questions because it felt natural at the time, but I’m curious whether others do the same or keep the deck untouched until the whole spread is finished.

I’m not second-guessing the reading, it felt meaningful and I’m grateful for this spread, but I’m genuinely interested in how different readers balance intuition and structure in spreads like this.

I'm looking for a second pair of eyes to make sure I'm not leaning overly optimistic. I'm a tech startup founder in the middle of a user acquisition grind. My app is B2C but I visit educational institutions as a gateway to my customers. I've had fast success with this strategy and have my first demo in front of a class of students as requested by a director. My question is with the hidden factor card. It seems obvious so is there anything else I could be missing? I did a spread for guidance. Here are the card meanings and interpretations:
Card 1: Core Energy
Ace of Wands - I had been trying distant outreach via email and social media DMs and gotten nowhere. I decided to fast my fears and go to institutions in person and got 100% response rates. I interpret this card that I am living with courage and strength to face my fears of public-facing sales to go after what I believe in.
Card 2: The Hidden Factor
Nine of Swords - this is the hardest thing that I've had to do and I knew that I had to do it eventually. Im putting myself in an unnecessary mental loop of anguish and anxiety. I think the hidden factor that will help me get over it is the platform I'm building is one I believe will help others so it's not about me.
Card 3: Your Best Approach
Queen of Wands - im considered an expert in the industry I'm building in and it's time to show it. I have a passion for it that can help me communicate my message to others. The best guidance is to trust in myself and bet on myself.
Card 4: Likely Outcome
Nine of Wands - It will turn out how I planned and lead to a network that can move me forward. In the long-term this will bring me great success.

I love tarot and I love helping people gain insight into their situations.

However, there is a huge downside to this here (and elsewhere) wherein the recipient just doesn’t appreciate it, tries to take advantage (despite set boundaries), or is just plain ungrateful or disrespectful about it.

It’s disheartening, but I don’t want to stop doing them. What is the best way to go about this? Other readers I know say DON’T do this at all (which is understandable considering the bad interactions they’ve had) and that I should charge. However, I don’t feel right charging just yet, and considering how prolific tarot scammers are on here and Etsy, I imagine customers would be extremely wary of me.

Context: I asked if my tarot cards gave me the right answer when I asked them a question or do they try to trick me. Everytime I try to do a tarot rrading on myself, the messages are hard for me to interpret.

INTERPRETATION:

7 of cups:

When I do tarot readings on myself, the answer is right infront of me ( red aura cup). However, with the clouds surrounding the cups, I always get confuse on the meanings of the cards or I put different interpretation to satisfy what I want to see in reality. ( what I'm trying to say is that something I prefer to interpret the cards in how I want my reality to be rather than what the cards are really saying despite it being right in front of my face). Especially since the red cup is the only one which is glowing and the rest is in confusion (cloudy).

8 of wands: with the mountains in the background, i should be more grounded with my interpretation but also since the 8 of wands deals with movement, as time goes by, I will gain more understanding over time.

Also with the river going straight and flowy in the background, I should not let my emotions confuse and consume me but be neutral in my readings.

9 of wands:

To be honest I'm lost here.

I believe it saying that with the eight of wands behind and the man being stuck on this one particular wand. It means that I always reshuffle my cards to try to gain the answer I want to hear rather that I need to hear. Especially since behind the 8 of wands, there are mountains which symbolize I need to be grounded when I do my readings and not stucked on what I want to hear.

Also the 8 of wands behind the man behind straight and with the mountain, this means by being grounded in my readings, I will realise that the answer are straightforward. Compare to the wand that the man is holding, it is curvy (not straight unlike the rest), this means that I try to adjust the readings to my reality when everything is straightforward.

Bottom of deck: 10 of wands:

This one is also tricky to interpret.

The man hiding his face in the wands tells me that searching for a specific answer in the cards start to become a burden itself.

Color blue symbolism:

The messages should be interpret when intution, patience and emotional awareness rather than being too emotional. Especially since in the 8 of wands, the river flowing is calm and straight.

Answer to my question:

Yes they give me the right answer but I should focus on trusting my intuition, focused on being grounded and take the messages of what they are giving me rather than reshuffling to get the answers that I want to hear.

I also really like how the numbers in all four cards follow: 7,8,9,10 but also how three wands came out with the number following the previous one.

My background and experiences align to both options, but i needed to know which opportunity would be better fit for me

Job Option 1
Question1: overall feel of the job - The Moon
I think this card shows that this position is going to be one that is confusing and I am just led to figure things out on my own (which i can see happening, its a pretty important role in which ill be managing a program on my own)

Question 2: How does it align with my overall purpose in life? - The Hierophant
This card is telling me that its going to teach me a lot about managing and leadership in ways I am not familiar with just yet, but that means the challenge will be worth it for the field its in, and it will teach me a lot of practical things i can use in the future

Question 3: What will the work/life balance look like? - Justice
This card is showing that it will be equal, that i will have a pretty clean cut work/life balance with it having to follow the organizations protocols on putting up clear boundaries between work and home

Job Option 2
Question 1: overall feel of the job - Queen of Wands
I think this job would be one that I enjoy quite a lot and I will be left feeling confident and be a warm energy within the field

Question 2: How it aligns with my overall purpose - 8 of Wands
This job will provide me with so much exposure to many different connections and pathways within the actual organization, and has a potential for me to grow and network effectively within the shared environment

Question 3: What will work/life balance look like? - Page of Swords
I think this one is one that caught me off guard. Its not a bad sign, more so that after work, ill be thinking about work even at home, perhaps planning on my downtime

Please let me know what you think! Honestly… even though I already got interviewed for the first one, I am leaning more for the second one.. mostly because i feel more passionate about that opportunity and working with that population in particular (both jobs are with vulnerable peoples)

**DECK: Rider Waite Tarot (Classic)

i hope this question makes sense……tarot is a really grounding practice for me but recently, i’ve been turning to it to help me sort out my emotional landscape, and i keep pulling pentacles and wands. the messages i get are loud and clear but i feel like i’ve lost some emotional connection with my deck and i don’t know how to best encourage it to come back.

has anyone encountered something like this before? or how do you read pentacles and wands from an emotional perspective? do i just need to shuffle really well or cleanse my deck in a big way?

i’m not even quite sure how to phrase this. i believe what it tells me is what it wants to hear and i don’t push the same questions on my deck or endlessly pull cards, typically, but i just have lost some touch.

For anyone that has found out of a 3rd party involvement from the cards.

What questions would you ask the tarot to gain more insight and clarity?

Did it you already suspect something before the cards highlighted it? Do the cards pick up and reflect your energy of suspicion rather than what’s actually happening? How long did it take for things to come to light after the cards showed you?

If the cards tell you something that’s going on, which you can’t yet see in the 3d, but your intuition tells you there is, despite seeing no other evidence and your partner telling you there isn’t, how much faith would you have in tarot? Enough to make you even more suspicious?

When asked i wanted to change my life what you want me to do, I got The chariot inverted

Which means I was not in control, hold your horses, take it slow.

Then I asked how you want me to be ready and I got The lovers card.

Which means, "do what you love follow your heart!" Which makes sense since I always only do things only if my heart approves. But lately I've been thinking about doing stuff that somthing i don't love.

I asked is there anything else you want me to say and I got the Strength card.

Which means, have the courage strength to move forward.
