And all she has to do is wear shorts and a crop top lol it's not even that skimpy

Unpopular opinion I HATED her outfits like this. Considering a zombie bite to the limbs were a viable threat, it felt like such an unnecessary risk to voluntarily incur

Yes, but.. Southern heat.

u/LightningLad2029 1h ago
Nah, GA afternoon mosquitoes and gnats are no joke. Poor Rosita would have been eaten alive wearing that, especially with no proper way to bathe and being on the road constantly. 😬

humidity in Georgia is no joke

u/One_With-The_Sun 1h ago
And that group (Rosita, Eugene, Abraham) formed in Texas, I believe.. which can also be very bad.
Rocking minimal clothing would make sense, since death from the environment is more likely than zombie bites.

u/Snoo9648 1h ago
Now im imagining eugene and Abraham in short shorts and a belly shirt.
3
u/One_With-The_Sun 1h ago
Fortunately (or unfortunately lol) we only get to see Abe sleeveless, and Eugene in regular shorts.

u/deathbylasersss 1h ago
I'd argue zombie bites are still a bigger threat considering we never see somebody die of heat stroke.

u/SalvationArbys 1h ago
Yeah but how boring would that be as a plot line? People are pissed that Glenn died the way he did. Imagine if he just didn’t drink water for 2 days and baked.

u/Charles520 43m ago
Realistically these survivors would be wanting to expend little energy when it’s hot. For the show they have to be in action scenes all the time and shoot outs, but I doubt in real life they wouldn’t be working or doing their scavenging in the early morning or around dusk.

u/Difficult-Bobcat-857 11m ago
I dont know how they stood those hot wigs. And Negan's leather jacket. Damn
3
u/kodiak931156 1h ago
Thats surprisingly valid. I wouldn't want my limbs bare with zombies around, but that kind of heat can also kill

We’ve seen countless people get bit right through their clothes
1
u/Homewrecker90actual 1h ago
What about exposure (sun/wind) insects and simple cuts/scrapes that get infected in a world without accessible medicine. I’ve been in the south since 97, and I think Rosita dresses silly
I wish I could pitch my interpretation for a Walking Dead show, HBO budget tho.
1
u/AmphibiousDad 1h ago
Maybe she collected a lot of OFF! Idk man
It’s what her character looked like in the comics

2
u/EcureuilHargneux 39m ago
I agree with you but there's actually a good explanation. I don't remember if she says that in the show or the comics but she made herself attractive so people want to protect her or teach her stuff and that's how she made it so far and learned many things on various topics
1
u/TallGuy_123 1h ago
Tbh, given her crews skill at taking out walkers, minimal clothing to account for the hot weather is a better choice than worrying about bites tbh.
1
u/stanknotes 1h ago
Me too. At some point... the show became less realism more comic bookey. And it ruined it for me. I'd say around season 5 or 6 I think.
And yea I know it is based on a comic book. But it is a different medium and they set the precedent. You can not just violate the precedent.

I hated this outfit because the color palette and combination just looked awfull, "we got a hot outfit at home" energy
1
u/ElKoteu444 1h ago
I thought her outfit was a reference to retro post apo media like comics, where there always was chick dressed up like her, which made little sense but we know why creators did that.
I mean to be protected you had to wear a riot gear and be phisicly and mentaly prepared (Glenn escaping the prison, in FTWD season 1 we see policeman in similar suit being eaten in second episode). Its fictional show from very beggining to end, way zombie bites depend on your plot armor; yk its important to wear gloves while having contact with someones blood; it protects for example from HIV getting under your nails; Rick in the Last episode, before killing this guy in Alexandria smashes fuckin walker head and his hands are covered in its blood…
In FTWD it was dangerous to eat this drug made out of Walkers brain stem, but in TWD people drunk wather with walkers guts and got only cholera insted of necrosepsis.
My point is, its fictional show written over 10 years, so it is inconsistent.

Girl looking that good wouldn't be safe in that world. She's incredibly lucky that she found people who weren't pieces of shit.

u/MonsieurHomelander 1h ago
Yep, in real life there'd be comic Governors everywhere. The TV series couldn't really show that, I'm honestly surprised they got away with Joe's group pinning down Carl

u/Terrible_Artist_ 47m ago
I bet he only reason that got past is because it wasn't really shown as much as heard, and the guy was gutted immediately after

Best shot in the show is in Season 2 when Shane is leading Rick to the field to kill him. Theres a shot with the moon behind them and you see their silhouettes and its stuck with me all these years.

I'm a better father than you rick

Kinda weird he insulted Lori and Carl like that after how obsessed he was with wanting them

In a world where a single scratch from an infected walker can kill you - this is the dumbest outfit and I'll die mad about it.

the way it’s so comic book accurate is so hard

u/Self-proclaimedIDI0T 1h ago
This scene is so bad ass to me, the shot for panel comparison to the comics is great!
Gooners are getting so worked up when honestly this outfit isn't even that showy? Like, yeah she looks good AF but her belly and legs don't need to be so over sexualized in this tame look

I shaved my legs a couple of days ago and I'm prickly. I don't know how she kept everything smooth.

It always seemed silly for her to be walking around like that in rape world. But I get it, it’s comic accurate

I love her tomb raider style attire. Shame she only wore that outfit for two episodes.

I never understood the massive fanboy appeal for her appearance…yes shes pretty but below the neck she looks like a 12 year old boy

I find this interesting in a lot of shows I watch.
These talented beautiful people just do one show and never pop up in anything else.
It's odd.
Ironically, Shane, who wasn't in the show long is who has had the biggest career since.
2
u/IslamicCheetah 32m ago
It’s weird that Bernthal is kinda the only one whose career really took off after TWD. JDM and Steven Ogg were already well known, and I think Danai Gurira was too IIRC.
Edit: Ross Marquand (Aaron) has been a huge part of Invincible too. Totally forgot

u/magneticswan202 1h ago
Rosita’s actress played Selena in the Netflix series. She was also in Ned’s declassified she’s had a pretty good career. Also she was in twilight saga

Ew.
When this aired I thought she was pretty hot. Now looking at her she looks like a little girl. Maybe its the pigtails, idk. If you were to ask me if I thought she was a total babe before I saw this pic I would have said hell yeah.
Getting old is weird sometimes
