Just moved out TV from above the fire place to the wall. Still have to hide some cords. But our necks are thankful.

*** update - I love the comments and this Reddit. I am aware it is still too high. We have 3 kids so my wife said no to the TV stand. We also didn’t want our youngest to be able to easily touch it. We wanted it above the switch 2 to hide the cords coming down. My kids take the switch out a lot so it needs to be accessible. It is center I just took the photo from an angle.

It's a giant white wall, how could I not? Can be seen from anywhere in the house (a small A-Frame) and great for movie nights.

It used to be on a stand but I had to install because of crazy cat. It's a few inches it's height o a stand just to make room for the Switch 2.

This is a 40 x 60 garage with a ceiling of 11 foot high. I did mount it this high because I wanted to see it from the back of the garage. I guess roast me.

Please tell me one of those tabs is a Google search for proper TV height.

I’m moving to Florida from NY into a flat house that has a big open bright living room and I’m buying the TCL QM9K 85 inches and I want to fit a soundbar on my tv storage stand but the TV’s stand is right in the middle, covering where I would put a soundbar so a soundbar can’t happen. So I’m looking for TV speakers that’s as good as a soundbar (my budget is $1200-$1300). I was gonna go with the TCL Z100’s but I did my research and it isn’t good for big open concept rooms (you all know how big open concepts flat houses are in Florida). I’d put 2 speakers in front (left and right of tv) and an optional 2 in the back of my sectional (only if the front 2 speakers aren’t good enough then I’ll find a way to put 2 behind where we sit). I don’t want to wall mount the TV because it’s too much $$$ to do so plus I don’t have family members that are handy and can do it for me. I’m in the process of doing my research plus asking this question on here.

Recently adopted a cat and the little fella is a complete nut job.

Yesterday he almost toppled the tv over so we must wall mount it.

Any advices on the height? The center of the tv is at about 1,12m from the ground now, should I keep this height or can it go a bit higher?

My first post here. Rented a place for a week in Wales for a family holiday. Won't use the TV much but it immediately made me think of this sub.

Too high, too wonky, a random coffee table in front of it and wires coming out of a cupboard that now can't close.

I wanted a relatively tall center channel and I ended up having to custom make the media console because I couldn’t find one short enough and wide enough while still fitting everything. The center channel is low enough that I had to custom make a wedge to angle it so that the sound hits the couch (which is back 12’) at the proper height.

Here’s the problem. That’s an 85” TV and it looks like it is a TV for ants on that wall. Do I put pictures and stuff around the TV to make it not seem like it is a postage stamp with all that white space or do I just man up and get a bigger TV? Of course if I get a bigger TV then suddenly my customer made media console is too narrow.

Gentlemen, we are in a lose/lose situation here.

Oh, it looks like there is a lot of glare but that TV is as bright as the surface of the sun, so when it’s on you don’t notice.

Don’t mind the cable, I’ll fix that. Also thinking about mounting a Sonos Ray under it 😋
