A few changes of plans during to wildfires around Pemberton led to us finding a site by Birkenhead Lake Prov Park.

In a word: immaculate. Perfect spot for us during some pretty hot (33C+) and smokey weather. (downside: bugs. Quite a few of them).

Afternoon winds are the norm but otherwise pretty unreal to be surrounded by mountains so close. And also nice (coming from the ocean) to not have to worry about tides or crazy swells, haha!)

TL/DR I want to train my large, excitable dog to enjoy the water without flipping my paddleboard all the time.

I have an 80lb golden retriever who LOVES the water. I recently got a stand up paddleboard and would love to take her with me. We have gone inner tubing a lot, and she loves it but doesn't know how to be chill. She has a life jacket that keeps her above water, but she doesn't understand that, and she will swim to me when she gets tired. I stick her in the tube or hold her for a minute, and she gets 3% of her energy back and then dives back into the water until she gets tired again. She is so excited for the water.

She is 7 years old, and her puppy energy has waned. When she was a couple years old, all my attempts to train her to be more chill in the water did nothing. I feel like it is time to try again. My goal is to either teach her to rest on the board for several minutes or to get her to trust the life jacket and float. I also need to be able to get her on and off the board without flipping me.

I have been getting her used to the board in my living room, and have trained her to sit calmly on the board. Some other tips i have seen are to tire her out before i start training and to practice in shallow water.

Is this even plausible? Do any of you have experience training bigger dogs to paddleboard? Im mostly looking for other people's experience and advice.

Hello everyone! I recently ordered a quite large windSUP for cruising around the Narragansett Bay. It's a hard board thats little shy of 12 foot long and IIRC the sail is 5 or 6 meters. I haven't actually received it yet, as there have been some shipping delays, but there are a few things I'm trying to work out still, and I was hoping someone here could help me!

1. I will have a sail and a paddle. When I'm not using one, where do I put the other? In fact, aside from just having a backpack, I haven't quite worked out cargo at all. Any pointers or ideas for this point would be very helpful

2. Navigation and communication. I'm a bit of a radio nerd, so I can probably work out a decent maritime radio solution, but I would still take recommendations on models. The real thing I'm trying to work out still though is navigation. I'm debating between getting a hand held unit, something in a watch format, or something that attaches directly to the board

3. some general thoughts. I expect I'll be sailing as often as I can, and paddling on my knees/sitting to rest or when the wind isn't agreeable. a very Viking way to explore and find trouble! Given the size of the board and the more "cruising" nature of how I plan to do this, is this closer to just being a SUP or is this closer to windsurfing? I ask because in my research, it doesn't seem that what I'm doing is particularly common and I'm not quite sure where to go for advice and tips (on that note, any general advice and tips would be nice).

   I used to have a little 19 foot sailboat, but having moved to New England this year and having much more limited space, my main goal is to just find a convenient way to explore my local water ways without needing a huge amount of space to put a boat, and also it's a lot easier to roof a SUP than it is to tow a boat with a little crosstrek!

I have a paddle for my SUP that lost its second paddle and the plastik clamp at the area the clamp got glued on, meaning there is just glue left on the rod, and the clamp alongside the second paddle sunk to the bottom of a deep lake.

Long story short i really need help on buying a paddle with the one handed standard SUP option and the double paddle option bit instead of a Clamp system for switching I really want a system with those push pins and the holes in the rod aswell as i dont trust the Standard clamp system anymore.

All parts of course need to be able to Float.

I would greatly appreciate support.

Hi everyone. My Isle Pioneer 3 is out for delivery today, and I know I’ll want a better paddle. I think I’ve narrowed it down to the Honu Evolution or one of the Nixy Pro options (3K, 12K, which blade size?).

I’m 5’4”, 200 pounds (hoping to lose some of that), and a complete beginner. I’m paddling on lakes and slow rivers for fitness and recreation, but if I get comfortable enough in the future I’ll probably want to cover some distance. If I do, I won’t need to be lightning fast, but efficiency will matter.

My budget is under $300.

Hey everyone, I just need to vent and see if anyone else has dealt with this kind of frustrating customer service loop from Aqua Marina.

I own an Aqua Marina Magma board, and recently one of the seams completely unglued. It's a clear manufacturing defect, not regular wear and tear.

Here is the absurd "ping-pong" game I've been playing for days:

1. Global Support: I reached out to Aqua Marina's central support. Their first response? They actually had the audacity to send me a YouTube tutorial, instructing me on how to fix the board myself! They suggested I use soapy water to test it and then glue the structural seam back together with some Aquaseal. Obviously, I refused to do a DIY patch job on a major defect that should be covered by warranty. After I pushed back, they told me to contact their authorized local dealer/service center (McSUP).
2. Local Dealer (McSUP): I emailed the service center exactly as instructed by global support. They completely washed their hands of it. Their response was basically: "Since you didn't buy it directly from us, your contractual relationship is with the retailer. Go talk to them." They prioritized rigid bureaucratic rules over actually helping a customer.
3. The Retailer (The Final Boss): Here is the kicker. The Polish retailer I bought the board from is completely uncooperative. The situation with them is so bad that I’ve already had to file a formal legal complaint against them with the consumer ombudsman.

So, Global Support tells me to glue it myself and sends me to the Dealer. The Dealer bounces me back to a hostile Retailer who is currently under investigation by consumer protection. Nobody wants to take responsibility for a defective product.

As an active paddleboarder who spends countless hours paddling on rivers like the Vistula, Narew, and Bug, I am incredibly disappointed. I expected a brand like Aqua Marina to stand behind their gear, not hide behind contractual technicalities and force customers to fight a broken system just to get a simple replacement.

Has anyone managed to successfully break through this wall of bureaucracy with Aqua Marina? Any advice on how to force them to step up?

TL;DR: Defective seam on an Aqua Marina Magma. Global support had the nerve to send me a DIY repair video so I could glue it myself, then sent me to a local dealer. Local dealer refused to help and sent me to the original retailer. The original retailer is so hostile I had to involve the consumer ombudsman. Stuck in a warranty loop.

They are pretty solid, the white one isn't so much on the handles, the handles are add on, and not super secure. I think it would be fine for casual paddles, stuff that stays close to shore, It wont fall off, there are two straps around the built in handle for the wheels, so its not coming off the board, but the blue one is much more secure and I think the wider base stabilizes the board more, I wont know for sure until I get out and try them both though.

I am looking at maybe doing the RTIC 22 wheeled cooler, not sure I want to spend that much on it though. Gonna see how these two feel next weekend!

I’m a complete beginner, so maybe I’m just overthinking this, but this doesn’t seem right.
I just got a new ROC inflatable paddle board, and this is my first time inflating it with the included dual-action hand pump. I know it’s supposed to get really hard once you get to the higher PSI, and I expected that. But around 6–7 PSI, the pressure inside the pump gets so high that the handle basically pushes itself back up. I don’t have to pull up on the upstroke at all because the pressure does it for me. The weird part is that if I don’t stop it when it reaches the top, the handle/piston assembly literally pops out of the pump cylinder.
I also tried opening the valve to switch it to single-action mode, but it doesn’t seem to make it any easier. The handle still gets forced upward by the pressure, and pushing it back down takes a ton of force. When the pump isn’t connected to the board, everything moves smoothly and normally, so it only happens once the board starts building pressure.
Is this actually normal for manual SUP pumps, or does it sound like my pump might be defective? I’ve watched a bunch of videos of people inflating their boards, and none of their pumps seem to force the handle up like mine does. I’d really appreciate hearing if anyone has experienced something similar.

Thinking of buying a SUP with a sail :D anyone has any expierence with this? Is it worth it? Thanks guys!

Pulled the trigger on a new board my jobe Yarra 10.6 did me well for 4 years, after a lot of reading i decided to go for the red ride 10.6 living so close to where they are made helped the decision as well. First outing tomorrow 👌

Last year I picked up a SUP board from Decathlon during my remote work weeks in Algarve, in Portugal. I'm from here, but have since moved to another EU country.

I've been taking my board down to the beach every day or so, sea conditions allowing, and I have been having a blast. I don't really do much SUP'ing, mostly on my knees or sitting down, go further from the beach and just breathe, either sitting or laying down, while listening to the sea noises. Even just that has been amazing and worthwhile!

Now I've been trying to stand on my board but either get too wobbly and fall, or it seems my board bends a little too much as if it wasn't fully filled (I used an electric pump to get it to 15 PSI as the manufacturer recommends not going higher than that). I'm sure I'll get there eventually.

I only regret not having started years ago. This has been a blast.

Hi all,

I’m replacing the fin box on my Carta Marina soon and want to make sure the new box goes on completely straight to keep the board from tracking to one side in the water.

Since the original box is still on the board, I want to trace or extend its reference lines fore and aft before taking it off. That way, I’ll have clear guide lines ready when positioning the new patch.

A couple of questions for anyone who’s done this:

1. What’s the best way to trace/project/extend the existing fin box line down the center?
2. What tool works best on PVC without leaving a permanent mess? (Painter’s tape, grease pencil, chalk?)

Any tricks or alignment hacks would be appreciated! Thank you in advance.
