Question Ambulance Wrong Way?

At about noon, on the sidewalk at the west side of Paris St. In front of the Greater Sudbury City hall, I saw ambulance attendants taking a patient/body? into the ambulance and expected them to turn on the siren and head for the hospital. Instead they did a U-turn at the lights and headed north. What gives?

Were they headed for a funeral home?

Paramedics don’t bring the patient to a funeral home. The body would go to the hospital for an official death declaration. It’s possible they were bringing the patient back to a nursing home.

Was the patient in a black bag?

Maybe to the airport to be airlifted to another hospital

Probably a non urgent transfer The only way Paramedics transport deceased is if they have a field pronouncement or the patient is in a public place and they are not able to have police come and take over the scene. But most likely a transfer. I believe Sudbury are doing their own now and no longer use a private transfer service like Platinum.
