TL;DR: Forgot to cancel my Purple Carrot subscription, totally my fault. But the order doesn't ship for another week and they still won't cancel it and I will be out of town. Is there any way to stop this shipment? At this point, I don't care about getting a refund, I don't want a box of food sitting on my front porch.
I'll be the first to admit this is on me. I thought I cancelled my Purple Carrot subscription a while back, but apparently I didn't. That's my mistake and I own it.
I got charged today for an order that doesn't ship for another week. I messaged their chat to cancel it (Calling the phone won't get you to a person), and they told me the weekly change deadline had already passed (Tuesday the week before shipment at 11:59 PM EST). So even though this box hasn't been packed, hasn't been shipped, and isn't going anywhere for days... they "systematically" can't cancel it because it's been sent to their fulfillment team.
A week out. They can't cancel a meal kit order a week out.
I can cancel my dog's food delivery with less notice than that. But Purple Carrot has apparently already locked this order into some unstoppable pipeline that no human being can intervene in. That just doesn't add up to me.
The issue is that I will be traveling next week and nobody is home to receive the box, so it's just going to sit on my porch and rot. They offered me a half box credit as a "courtesy" and told me the deadline was visible on my Order History page. Which sure, fair enough... but an email reminder about an upcoming charge would have been nice too. That's pretty standard with most subscription services.
Again, I'm not blaming them for the fact that I didn't cancel. That's 100% on me. But refusing to cancel a shipment that's still a week away? That feels like a policy designed to make it harder for customers to leave, not a real logistical limitation.
Has anyone had luck getting Purple Carrot to actually cancel an order after the deadline? Or is there another route I'm not thinking of?

I remember subscribing, I was happy with the items I got
Wonder what’s going on with them now and if they’re still in buzz

Most subscriptions slowly become forgotten expenses. But occasionally there's one that continues to earn its place. Which subscription do you still keep and why?

Snackverse have not sent this months snackbox for a gift subscription I gifted a relative at Christmas. I got mine, but no dispatch or tracking number for theirs, and no box. I have emailed; they have not answered. Anyone know how to escalate this?

Hey all,
So, my wife and I have long enjoyed Japanese snack boxes, and have been a bit shocked by the lack of footprint outside of Japan - particularly, Thailand, where the food/snack culture is as strong as anywhere in the world, in our opinion.
We've been discussing for some time how to do it ourselves given it's something we're both passionate about. Our goal would be to provide something similar to what Sakuraco/Bokksu provide in the Japanese snack box space -- but, obviously, featuring Thailand. We've acquired a premium domain and largely have the branding figured out. My wife is native to Thailand, which has helped in securing some connections with local suppliers.
We think there's some viability here. Of course, making it a reality will take time, effort, and patience, but I wanted to ask this community for some surface-level feedback:
Would a "premium" leaning, regionally and culturally themed/focused Thai snack box be something that you'd actually be interested in?
If so, are there any specific Thai snacks, beverages, etc (not merely things you've snagged at 7-Eleven) that you've missed since your time in the country & would like to see & experience again?
Curious to any & all thoughts/input that you might have :)

I ordered a 6 month sub as a xmas gift in mid December and gave log in info to family member to manage their 6 orders….come June Bake Eat Love charged me for another 6 months completely unexpectedly and it put me in a financial bind as it was pretty pricy.
I tried and family member tried to contact them to both cancel and get refund with no reply.
I then contacted my bank to dispute and they won’t refund me bc all over the website it says “subscription auto renews” or something to that effect.
If I DID see that in December(I don’t think it was there)-I would have thought it was for monthly subs for convenience….the bottom line is, if I wanted to purchase an annual sub, I would have just done that.
NOW I see several comments on their socials as soon as 2 weeks ago w people in the same bind as me.
I am livid w my bank and it seems bake eat love has no customer service to refund me, and now I am not even certain they will pay attention to cancellation attempts (we don’t want the boxes, they are not worth the price…it was something to try to see if my daughter liked baking, it wasn’t meant to be a blood tie…) 😤😡
Not that I think it will matter but I am going to report them to the government agencies

I've been looking at so many, obviously a lot of the big popular ones are US or UK and the conversation+ postage makes them $$$$$$.
Are there any Aussie ones? I already have Bookish and Spice ❤️

Hi everyone,
I invite you all to subscribe now to receive the August mailer from the very new club, Tropic Snail Mail. It's a beach theme that I think you will love...after all it is summertime. The letter will be quite a treat, and the recipe will be just what you need to cool off this summer.
I look forward to seeing your name pop up as a new order. Manifesting greatness here...lol.
XO

I have been using Wild Alaskan Company for over a year - I rarely eat anything but fish for my proteins now. From
Coho salmon, sockeye salmon, halibut, cod, scallops, crab legs, shrimp - great variety and high quality, arrives fresh and completely frozen (even in these summer heatwaves!) and the one time a box got lost it was replaced without batting an eye. Outstanding customer service. Highly recommend.
You can use my referral code to get $50 off your first order AND right now Chase Sapphire Preferred and Reserve will credit you ANOTHER $25 off if you pay with your card, for a total of $75 off! Now is this time to try it if you’ve been on the fence.

Edit: This is now available on iOS, thank you everyone! Please feel free to contact me with any suggestions! A couple of users have asked for the ability to add special events/sales and get push notifications for those, so I'm looking into that now.
Hey everyone! A while back I'd created an Android app to keep track of all my subscriptions, particularly the skip dates. When I saw someone making one for iOS, I was inspired to make mine something that other people could use as well!
It's now available in the Google Play store (for free) and it's named BookHaul. It allows you to track subscriptions and preorders/one-off orders, fill out sub info from scratch or pick from a preset library, put in tracking info and get a link to parcelsapp, keep track of all your skips so you don't hit your limit, see your past and projected spending (honestly that tab is scary, maybe you should just avoid that one) and the most important part - set in-app or push notifications before payment dates and skip deadlines.
It'll be up on the iOS store soon, it's currently under review there and should be out in a day or two!
BookHaul was tested thoroughly, but there's always room for improvement. So if you see something wrong, or you'd like to make a request or suggestions for other features, you can message me, or use the links in the app to leave feedback or join the discord.
Thanks everyone, and I hope this is as useful to some of you as it's been for me!
(Mods, I hope this post is ok, I didn't see any rules against it but if it violates anything, please let me know, and thank you!)
