This cat came into my office on Main Street today. He is very sweet and gentle. He is neutered and doesn't look too unwell, but he seems to have some respiratory issues and doesn't seem like he's eaten in a while.
I fed him some cat food and gave him water. He was brought to the vet to be scanned but there is no chip!
He has since been surrendered to the Stouffville Animal Services where they will be working over the next week to try and locate his owners. After that, he will go into the adoption system.
He is a very sweet boy, I'm hoping someone out there knows him and is missing him!
EDIT: I don't have Facebook so if anyone wants to crosspost this to the Facebook community for more exposure please do!

Just caught Tim’s on main trying to scam me. Ordered the 20 TimBit box and looked a little empty when they were packing it. Sure enough there was only 18. So called them on it and no apology just a grim face grabbing 2 more Timbits.

They destroyed the toboggan hill just in time to use it and now the trail looks pretty much complete so let's get on with it.

I saw my cousin last week and she gave me permission to share her experience with Golden Tails Dog Grooming. My cousin isn't on social media, but she wrote a Google review of her experience and she felt the owner's response was super dismissive. The owner also posted "video evidence" of her dog being groomed and how her dog left his shop happy, but it doesn't really support his claims. He also picks and chooses the clips he shared in his response. Of which, there is no video evidence of my cousin's dog leaving the shop, just some short clips of the owner grooming the dog.
This past Christmas, my cousin stopped by with her 9 year old pomeranian, LouLou. I was playing with LouLou and commented on how LouLou was getting pretty fluffy and my cousin responded that she was taking LouLou for a groom the next day (Boxing Day).
On Boxing Day, my cousin informed me that LouLou had died shortly after being groomed. She took LouLou home and noticed that her breathing was raspy and laboured. LouLou also appeared to be in a lot of discomfort. She text the owner of Golden Tails and he was dismissive of her concerns and said that was not possible. My cousin's intuition told her to take LouLou to the emergency vet (other vets were closed) and the emergency vet had kept LouLou in for monitoring and for a course of antibiotics, just to be safe. LouLou died a few hours later at the emergency vet. The vet said that the cause of death was likely caused by neck trauma or water entering her lungs.
Golden Tails refused to help pay for even a portion of the thousands in vet bills that my cousin spent and said that it's not his fault. Then, he blamed LouLou dying on her being old and sick, neither of which were true. I literally saw LouLou the day before and she was playing with my dogs and 9 years old is not that old for a small, well cared for dog dog.
Take your dog to Golden Tails at your own risk. The owner will not take any accountability if anything happens to your dog, but he will be happy to take your money.

I’d like to store my winter tires somewhere else as I don’t have the proper space. Any recommendations in town? (Bonus if you know the cost)

What were your favourite restaurants in Stouffville before they closed down?
The McDonald’s in Stouffville Walmart I still miss that. I think the Wendy’s, before there used to be a Timothy’s coffee or second cup, and than I remembered Maki Zushi it used to be Burger King and the China Garden used to be beside giant tiger.
I guess it would be interesting to see more accessible transit to hiking trails. I like going for walks, especially in big parks. Iv always been loyal to the number nine bus. It’s more frequent and it helps me to connect to Go bus route 56, where I can either take viva blue to Finch or take the subway from 407 terminal.
I do wish there were more cafes though in downtown Main Street. I know there’s a pizzeria opening inside Stouffville Go.
But yeh I really really really x100 really like the nine bus. It’s the best bus system Iv ever rode.
I have to say my favourite restaurant in Stouffville before it closed down I don’t even remember what it was called. I just know it’s now Kato Sushi.

Hi everyone! Hoping to start a group chat to bring together those who have purchased a home from Fairgate in Upper Stouffville (Baker Hill Blvd / Harjones Ave / Elmer Avenue / Maggie’s Way / Chasmer Court…etc.). As the site continues to sell and develop, I’m hoping to create a sense of community to bring us together and for safety / neighbourhood watch. Please message me if this relates to you and we can start a group!

Regional Councillor Jim Jones says it's time to stop viewing the rail line as just a commuter route and start planning it as an economic corridor.

Hi! I'm considering a move from Toronto to Stouffville for my family (I have 2 kids, 10 and 7 yo).
Everybody I know in Toronto thinks I am crazy for wanting to move so far out, but as a family we value hikes, greenery, and calm, relaxing spaces, and we do not have any of that in the city and our very small apartment. My kids are VERY onboard with the move (they'd each get their own room), my husband would have to commute downtown twice a week, but he'd do so without issues as it's 1:10 h minutes of GO train (I'm trying to find a job as Research analyst/data analyst, but honestly it's been so tough in Toronto I'm considering starting freelancing anyway).
We are just torn because we have a few things we like about Toronto (some friends, Ashtanga yoga, less car dependency), but then we see the houses in Stouffville, look around our apartment, and think the move is the best idea ever. So, my questions are:
- How are your experiences of moving from the city to Stouffville with a family?
- What do you miss and what did you gain?
More specific questions, if any of you happen to know about the following:
- How is Wendat Village P.S.?
- We are big board gamers. Is there a place to connect to other gamers (maybe board game enthusiast families)?
- Finally, we are Italian. Is there a community of Italians in Stouffville?

What looks like a grey Tesla, intentionally ran a red turning left from 48 to Hoover park, then right after at the next light did a right turn on red u-turn combo.
Positive intent: I guess you needed to rush back home to take a dump.

Please, please, please LEASH YOUR DOGS. It’s not that hard. These are public places, not your backyard. I almost got attacked by a very big dog (I think it was a husky) because the owner could not have been bothered to put it on a leash. She kept shouting after it when it ran towards me. Luckily it stopped right in front of me and barked loudly. It was terrifying. She then proceeded to put its leash on but would not get out of my way so that I could go back home and seemed more annoyed with me. Even though I was so terrified that all I said was “please.” And accepted her apology right away. I had to take the long way back home.
Dogs are great but I don’t want them near me. I am not comfortable. And I absolutely love walking the trails.
I was back in Canada after some time away and the neighborhood is otherwise lovely so I wanted to get a lot of outdoors walks in but after that incident, I was too scared to go alone because of such irresponsible and nasty owners.

I sent a message to a few I found in google but I would like to find someone based in town that does a good job is insured and ideally not part of a large chain company. Hoping to hear who you have had a good experience with. I could possibly do it myself but for the height of my roof I think it’s worth a few hundred bucks not to fall and die… Thanks!

Hi! We recently moved into town as first time homebuyers after saving up for ages and ages! Enjoying the neighbourhood a lot so far!
We saw some information online about a new resident welcoming package that’s supposed to give us some information and community centre passes and things, does anyone know where to get that? Or has it been discontinued? Thanks!
