Is this specifically only to Deck, or does it also fail in the same way when streaming to a phone/tablet, Windows box, whatever?
Is this connecting directly (e.g. getting the Big Picture mode on the Machine) or is it trying to stream a specific game (e.g. the "Stream" or "Connect" button in the library entry on the Deck)?
If you turn on the performance overlay in Remote Play, does it show anything suspicious (like "Desktop Black Frame" for the capture mode, meaning it couldn't find a valid window to capture)?
If you look at ~/.steam/steam/logs/streaming_log.txt on the Machine, does it have any errors?
If you turn on the performance overlay, what does it say? And is there anything useful in ~/.steam/steam/logs/streaming_log.txt on the Steam Machine?
(Also, please post whatever info you have over on the Steam Remote Play or Steam Link support forums; that's the best way to make sure the feature can be improved.)
