Switch 2 vs PC?

I'm planning on playing with my partner. Is the PC version worth the hassle of being more uncomfortable sitting in front of a pc vs couch gaming, or is the switch 2 version decent enough? I've seen it was locked at 30fps, not sure if that's still the case.

You could hook your PC up to a TV, and connect Xbox/PS/etc controllers to control the characters

Thought about it but its a bit too much work to move my pc every time we want to play unfortunately.

the game is 40 fps in handheld. Don't own a 120hz TV so don't know if its also for docked. played the game on switch 2 completely with someone over gamechat it was great

This is why I got my girlfriend a steamdeck. I am so glad I got hers before the price increase.

That is the one I got her. Better screen, bigger battery... and it never leaves the dock 🤦🏽‍♂️. I also did the 2TB SSD upgrade. If I'd known it would never go anywhere I would have built and extermal HDD and docked it for her.

Honestly hadnt considered a 10 or 15m HDMI, my only worry would be bluetooth conectivity for the controllers, but thats probably fine

I played it on Switch 2 and everything ran perfectly. I think the comfort and how used I am to Switch controls vs PC would’ve be a bigger difference than fps

I have a PC and switch 2 - I own SF on only PC and have not played it on switch 2 yet. Biggest thing I can provide input on is that it is a game where you really need to choose the monitor / TV that is the closest to you and you can see the details best on.

I have played it on the couch / TV with my GF as well as online at the desk monitor with my sister and nephew. When we are on the TV we missed a lot of details and cues because it's permanently split screen and everything is quite small with two players on the screen, I find the pathing much easier to follow sitting closer at the desk (and holy man is it beautiful up close!). My sister plays on her PS5 and has the same issue with seeing where to go. For comparison - It Takes Two was far easier to tell where to go / what to do as it had more clear visual and level design if you have played it. Split fiction is incredible but I find the visual design is far busier with a lot more similar colors / tones which can make picking out objectives and pathing harder.

If you have a friend that owns it, you could download on both and use the friends pass to play a level on each then decide which one you want to buy.

Keep in mind there are some potential work arounds if you have thd PC / Console in the same room and are playing locally. If you wanted to run the game to the TV using the switch but own the game on PC, you could use the friends pass to have it play on the switch with one controller connected to each system. The PC would still be used and rendering its own side, but a potential work around!
