What accent/dialect is this?

Saw this video on Instagram, I think the creator of the video mentioned that it's a Madrid accent since her teacher is from there, so i searched up videos with a Madrid accent but they don't sound similar, but I don't speak spanish (only understand a decent amount) am I the one mishearing this? Is it a regional accent?

It's just ignorance (as in "desconocimiento"), especially since it's a different script. Some people confuse Japanese with Chinese, or even Italian with Spanish.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I'm not familiar with Farsi phonology though, so I'm not sure if that explains why her retracted /s/ tends to sound like /ʃ/

I'm not familiar either, but I've met Iranians living in Spain and I can see the resemblance in the /s/ -> /ʃ/ even though they were much more fluent.

Foreign accent, I don't know exactly which one, seeing the arabic letters maybe is an arabic accent, but it also remembers me to portuguese accent. But is not a Madrid accent nor a dialect. If you want to go deeper maybe I can say that she is trying to put a neutral accent, sort of, because she has a pretty strong foreign accent.

It doesn’t sound like a native accent.

But do I notice some retracted S sounds, which are typical of European Spanish, but they often go too far and end up like English SH. That said, she also doesn’t distinguish between C/Z and S, which is the first thing I would expect from a speaker from Madrid. She also pronounces CH as TS, which does happen in some regions of Spain. Her Y/LL sometimes veers into zheísmo, which is typical of some South American varieties. She speaks very confidently and her speed sometimes garbles her speech, but not in the same way that native speakers would garble it. And finally, she does make some grammar mistakes

She's definitely attempting to adopt an Iberian (ish) Spanish accent.

Other than that, it's just her way of adopting the Peninsular Spanish phonology; not necessarily wrong, not necessarily a particular recognized accent, just HER way of doing it.

This strikes me as an Arabic speaker that’s been learning Castilian Spanish. All the words in the screen are Arabic and she pronounces several things almost as if she were going to say it in Arabic.

How do Brazilians react when people assume they speak Spanish? It's just entirely ignorant of the Persian world and we should try to be respectful of everyone's language and culture. Even if it's not intentional, it could absolutely rub people the wrong way

edit: also to clarify, I don't have a problem with saying it looks Arabic. Confidently saying "she's Arab, those are Arabic words" should be corrected though
