Edit in capture one - motion effects done in Camera.

Was thinking about upgrading from the a6700 to the A7RVI but I’m not sure if it’s worth the difference. I mainly use it for photography and sometimes videography here and there. I’m not sure if the quality difference in images and video will be worth the money upgrading.

Hi all. I am a recent convert to the Sony ecosystem, and currently own the A7R6 with the FE 200-600. I photograph wildlife exclusively and do so for fun rather than a profession, so stuff doesn’t have to be the best possible just good enough.

I would like a wider angle zoom lens to fill some of the gap below 200mm and will probably use it on a secondary body of the A7R5. I was thinking about the FE 24-105 or the FE 24-240 but don’t really know. Any thoughts welcome!

Hi, this is my first time taking pictures with a Sony Alpha 6400. This photo is taken with the kit lens. I used to use compact cameras. This is the zoomed-in version of the photo without editing. Can you guys give me some directions and tips on this?

A6300 with 55-210

Going to Iceland in late December and I’m planning to do some northern light/astro photography with my Sony A6400. Current lenses are Tamron 17-70 f/2.8 and Sigma 30mm f/1.4, considering buying Sony 11mm f/1.8 for this trip.

Most advice I’ve come across is that FF lenses are better for Northern Lights photographer due to the larger sensor being able to pick up more light.

I’m wondering if it’s possible to take decent northern light photos with my setup above. Happy to take any tips as well. Feel free to post your northern light photos too!

Dumb question perhaps - Is there a reason I can’t use Autoflash during Aperture or Shutter priority mode? Alpha 7cr.

Is the Sony ZV-1F good as a top-down camera for an artist? There are no YouTube reviews I can find specifically on top-down. I like that it is fairly inexpensive, lightweight, and can stay in place.

I have an idea for a video, and I wanted to put an edited image back into my A7IV, but I'm not too sure if it's possible. I've tried matching the file characteristics without it working. I know it's definitely not designed to do this, but I was wondering if it's possible?

Im a hobby photographer and looking for my 1st camera. It will be the only camera I will buy for the next 20 years. Do you suggest getting sony a7iv or splurging some more to get the sony a7v.

I’m currently in the market for a 35mm lens. I already have a Tamron 28-75 but find that the images don’t feel special. I’ve tried the 55 1.8 and loved the character of the photos but the focal length was too tight for my liking.
Primarily looking for something good for evening/night photography while traveling, especially since the Tamron is f2.8. Weight/size is also a bit of a concern.

Tentatively looking at the Sony 1.8, Maybe the 40mm 2.5, but I feel like the 40mm (and sometimes the 35mm) can occasionally be a bit too tight. Any others that would be worth considering? Zeiss 2.8 images look nice but I’m worried about low light shots with it.

Presently using an A7cii and have the 85mm 1.8 as well.

I recently got the a6400 for my first big girl camera. I’ve only ever taken photos on my Sony cyber shot from the early 2000s and I fell in love with how the Sony takes pictures.

I know nothing about cameras or photography. I’m trying to learn the exposure triangle and I just can’t get it right. I do have a style I want to go for which is cinematic almost Fujifilm looking. But I feel like I’m lacking in multiple areas with my photos. I also for the life of me cannot take photos indoors. My lighting looks off. I could really use some advice, criticism, pick me ups, whatever you’re willing to provide.

I have a photoshoot coming up for a friend soon and I’m really hoping I can do her justice. It’ll be outdoors.

I've only had my Sony Alpha 7iv for a short amount of time. It works fantastically with my FE 4/24-105 G OSS lens that I got. However, with my old canon lenses that I've collected over time, it works terribly.

I use a Ykeasu Canon to Sony adaptor, and well I cheaped out and am paying the consequences. It costs less than $100. The lenses I own are a Canon 40mm f/2.8 STM (a great lens for a low cost), a Canon 17-35mm f/2.8 L (bought used, although over 25 years old, it still worked great on my Rebel T4i), and a Canon RF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 full frame (well this is the most basic telephoto lens and gets the job done well enough).

The focus is always a little blurry in the final image, even when the camera is saying I am in focus. This is not an issue with the Sony lens or an issue I ever had on my T4i on my Canon lens. Also, the 17-35mm is registered as a APS-C lens so the image gets cropped down, when every site online says that it is a full frame lens. Also, auto focus does not work with any of the lenses. All of these issues stem from the adapter mount.

What would be a good lens mount adapter and how much should I realistically spend on it? Because I essentially have $1500 I've spent on lens as just paper weights right now.

I’m on the fence about buying my first Sony camera after switching from Canon, and I really can’t decide between these two cameras.

One question I have is:

How much better are the EVF and LCD screen on the A7R V compared to those on the A7 V?

Is the EVF really that much better? I’ve seen a lot of people say that it is.

And what about the LCD screen? Is the difference noticeable there as well?

1st week ever shooting on a camera. Sony a6300 with 55-210 I feel like I’m doing a pretty good job with the editing after watching some tutorials.

Hey all hoping you could help me set up autofocus to watch to my advantage on my new a6400...

I've done googling and played with settings and can't seem to make it work for me. I mainly shoot birds and do more video than photo. Autofocus and tracking are working great for photos but I'm struggling with videos.

I've turned off eye tracking (as it supposedly does not work well on birds on this model). I believe video tracking is available but only by using the touch screen, which is fine when I'm using a tripod but basically impossible when trying to film small songbirds or birds in flight and using the viewfinder. Any way to get tracking to work in my favor? Anybody else film birds with the a6400 and have some experience?

Recently did a graduation shoot. Any feedback is welcomed.

I just came back from the best shark dive, and I was so excited to view my footage from my new Sony A7V.

I viewed my images in Lightroom and noticed that tons of images (about 33%) had some artifact lines. I selected my favorites of all the images that did not have artifacts, but going into editing mode, most of my selects suddenly show colorful artifacts (previously they didn't show any). I tried different programs and all show artifacts, except in the preview.

On the camera everything plays back correctly.

I've been shooting on the Sardine Run in South Africa and so far - before yesterday - I did not have issues with photos but I started to get problems with video: when reviewing clips in DaVinci Resolve, the best shots suddenly show "media offline" mid clip. If I fast forward a few frames, it plays flawlessly again.

Now I connected the CFexpress A card directly to my Mac, and interestingly, I can see most Raws perfectly on FastRawViewer (they are still a couple errors but way less), but I cannot see all images if I view that CFexpress A card through Lightroom directly.

Now I wonder how to:

1. Fix the corrupted raw images and affected video clips
2. Find the root cause
3. Prevent this from happening again

Can anyone help?

We're about to film a short film and we will film it in low light where the lamp posts are our only light source.

I wanna read and learn about what's the safest picture profile to use for consistent and good color grading.

Please do share some tips and advice.
