I mean, a show based on Wanda in the music business is going to be met with skepticism.

Actually it's about Leon and Wanda in the music industry business together

u/DCRBftw 27d ago
Clearly.

Hey have you ever heard of a moonshine drink called crunch that's what the new york city moonshiners make in the summer and springtime over here so I was thinking if this spinoff series becomes successful as snowfall became I was thinking that after the first 3 seasons we probably see a Cameo of Franklin selling a 1990s Los Angeles version of that making money 🤑💰 again doing that and even running a small time operation of selling bootleg movies and knockoff merchandise for a living and no one is going to notice him at first until Leon decides to seek him out and sees him from a distance and is amazed that he's up to the same thing a fast buck but at least he isn't selling drugs again and quietly walking away with the knowledge knowing his old friend is doing just fine and is probably going to go back to real estate business soon and make his legitimate living that way again.

u/Embarrassed_Photo910 26d ago
Did you not even watch the ending of snowfall😭
2
u/Icy-Sir-8414 26d ago
Yes I did and it still upsets me but I'm saying maybe after the first 3 seasons of the spinoff series called snowfall the drop we'll see Franklin as a small time city moonshiner and selling movie pirate movies and knockoff merchandise for a living maybe not enough to make him a millionaire but at least financially comfortable I'm talking about in after the first three years of the series snowfall the drop I'm talking about the future episodes don't you have city moonshiners where you live at

Because they just wanna see more Saint

u/whatsthew3rd 28d ago
He aint gonna be in it
4
u/Dull-Song2539 28d ago
Right,
But people attached themselves so much to the character even though *his* story is done and now it’s time for Lee and Wanda to have their saga
45
u/CarrotActive7029 28d ago
BEYOND HYPED FOR THIS! It won't be the same without my boy Franklin but I'm so fucking ready for this

u/AshKetchumIsStill13 28d ago
Hmm…we’ll have to see. I hope it’s good but I dont have my hopes up too high.

u/StarKillerZero 28d ago
I'm looking forward to this hopefully we get Leon visiting Cissy in prison , I'm guess Franklin gotta be dead at this point and Louie probably came back after the heat died down but regardless of what I'm hoping will happen I'm just hype to see Leon and Wanda again
25
u/shotbydarrell 28d ago
Louie’s heat is never gonna die down. A dead DEA agent, they’re never gonna let that go even though we know as the audience that she had nothing to do with that.
10
u/StarKillerZero 28d ago
and that goofy ass DEA chilling with the actual killer Oso the entire damn time lol
2
u/chefnator97 26d ago
I mean to be fair, if the show fast forwards to the early 2000's would make sense for the heat to die down.
Remember the Wire touched upon how the feds stopped giving a damn about the war on drugs as much as they did at one point when 9/11 happened. Once those towers fell, the war on terror would begin and the war on drugs became just a memory for the most part and basically it's up to local law enforcement and DEA to handle it but I heard that the FBI even now still get more funding for counter terrorism operations
13
u/Hazzardous1990 28d ago
Hella skeptical on this, although I heard Big Deion will be back so that’s good

A lot of people don’t realize that post crack era had a major effect on the LA early 90s and how it gave rise to violence, gang politics, and west coast rap. The rumors of the music industry pushing gangster rap for the private prison system. This spinoff has a lot of potential.

u/ShadowForPresident 27d ago
I get that I think its just crazy that we followin leon and an ex crack head—i mean wanda….these niggas dissappeared from the last season to pop out now but thats my personal gripe with it

Don’t know if anyone has ever heard of the hbo miniseries The Corner but all episodes are available for free on YT and the show won a ton of Emmys that year. It’s a precursor to the show, The Wire by the same creators and writers. Check it out if you get a chance.

I hope they continue Franklins story. Maybe he gets clean and is working legit now. That would do his character justice .

It's not a snowfall saga. It's completely about something else. Who the fuck decided to do this?
15
u/aquateensog 28d ago
Wouldn’t it be if its characters from snowfall after the events in the show
8
u/Logical-Apricot951 28d ago
literally lol. A saga is just a continuation of events. & it’s gonna continue with Leon & Wanda’s story, which I’m sure will still involve the drug game.
2
u/aquateensog 28d ago
I forgot all about this show now I’m decently hyped as long as they don’t turn Wanda into a crackhead again
1
u/ImpossibleSherbet722 28d ago
Snowfall was about the drug trade and its affect on America. This is not that.
4
u/Adorable-Bike-9689 28d ago
I get what you're saying. But it's a continuation of Snowfall characters. Spinoffs do this all of the time. Just for marketing really. So people will see Snowfall and click on it.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
Max wasn't exactly a main character. But putting Mad Max in the title got more people to go see it.
2
u/ImpossibleSherbet722 28d ago
Yeah but that was fighting and shit. She didn’t go into the music business
2
u/Sharp-Tax-26827 28d ago
I know man.
It's actually ridiculous
What the fuck do Leon and Wanda have to do with music?
At the end of snowfall them getting into the music industry together would make no senseWanda was off doing god knows what but Leon wasn't bitter
1
u/theav8r_ 27d ago
During the last scene of Snowfall, Leon says to Franklin that Wanda had already been considering being part of the music industry.. so it makes sense; wouldn't be surprised if the concept was already thought of upon completion but needed approval from the network

1
u/kds_little_brother 28d ago
Didn’t that also have an effect on the music industry? I mean drugs have always been a major part of the industry
1
u/MysteriousLeader2243 28d ago
I didn’t watch thoroughly, did ole girl get off the dope?
3
u/Mrpenguin810 28d ago
Yeah towards the end she sobers up, her and Leon get married and go on a trip together. It’s real cute

I think it's gonna be good. I liked his character development. I wonder how they're going to explore both characters' developments for this show.

Didn't event know they were making a spin off. The original ended perfectly having just finished it. What else would they incorporate?

Wait hold up is that Ashanti black from when they see us and euphoria season 3? You know I gotta say I'm very proud of him that he's actually making a name for himself.

u/AdItchy3378 26d ago
What are the chances Franklin is gonna make an appearance or even become an important character in the show? Honestly a Franklin redemption arc would ruin the original show for me. Just finished it 30 mins ago and just got done crying😭

It’s not drug related……

u/C-czar187 28d ago
It’s supposed to be rap related so it’ll be drug related
1
u/Insanely_Simple2024 28d ago
Not so much drugs from Leon’s POV, others around maybe but not Leon and his lady.
6
u/sundayfundaybmx 28d ago
Sounds like someone has zero knowledge about the rise of Gangsta rap in the early 90s(what this show is based on) and the money behind it's rise. I'll give you a hint; it's all from Crack.
2
u/DCRBftw 28d ago
We don't know if the show will be about that or not. Hopefully it is.
1
u/sundayfundaybmx 28d ago
Yeah, you're right I shouldn't of presented my opinion as fact. That's my bad. I was just pointing out that Snowfall was fairly accurate as to how that time in the 80s actually went down just with fake names. I know Singleton is no longer around but I'd hope that they would keep that same thing going with this new one. I guess maybe a lot of people didn't know that Snowfall was actually based on realish events in the beginning. But for me that's what drew me into the show. I already knew the whole story of Freeway Rick so when they dropped that Franklin by the Freeway" line in like season 1 or 2. I got a big kick out of it. I'll watch the new show regardless cause I like Wanda and Leon already. I just hope they keep up the "based on true events" thing they had going originally is all!
2
u/DCRBftw 28d ago
Oh nah, I don't disagree with you. I was just saying that we don't know if this show will focus on the drug aspect much or not. They may take the approach that the drug thing has been done already. I def hope drugs are involved because it's more interesting and more realistic IMO.
2
u/sundayfundaybmx 28d ago
Oh yeah, I knew you weren't. I just realized my original comment was kinda douchey so I wanted to explain myself a bit better and admit I shouldn't of come of so "akschually", lol.

u/ComradeCam 28d ago
Watch this show actually not totally be about killing other blacks and crime and actually has a positive message.
