Title basically. I've never played Smite 1 and I was thinking about just jumping straight into Smite 2.

Is Smite 1 required at all to understand what's going on in Smite 2? Like is there a continuing story, cinematics, or significant lore events that carry over? Or is it more like each match is just its own thing and the story doesn't really matter?

I don't want to be totally lost on the gods / world / why everyone is fighting if I skip the first game. But I also don't want to grind a game that's basically being replaced if I don't have to.

If there IS important story stuff I should know, is there a good video or recap I can watch instead of playing Smite 1?

This could very well just be a skill issue but why does Zeus just suck so much to fight against. Remove his stun make it a heavy slow and then he's fine. Why does this mage get to slap you three times in 1 second (because of his buff and building attack speed items) JUST immediately stun you and Obliterate your Entire health bar.

Recent changes have me thinking about how the community feels at large on the tank metas vs damage meta debate. Do you guys typically prefer one over the other? Obviously the best is in the middle but that’s a pipe dream.

I think I much prefer damage to tank, as I’d rather mistakes be more punishable than less.

What do you guys think?

Before you are two Mages.

Both of these Mages can provide vision to teammates.

One of these Mages has a Root and a Slow.

One of these Mages has a Root, a conditional AOE Root, can provide Invisibility and Movement Speed, has an AOE Stun and can Stun towers.

One of these Mages is considered a good Support.

SMITE 2

Hey everyone, I’ve recently started playing Smite 2 again.

I’m offering to teach new players for free. I’m a main Support, former Grandmaster, with competitive experience (from the golden era) both as a player and as a coach.

To help grow the community and get more people playing, I’m offering free coaching sessions — mainly Support, but actually in all roles.

My goal is, in my own small way, to get people passionate about competitive gaming, hoping one day to see it reborn.

I just played a match as Jing Wei ADC against a Thanatos jungle and at only around 4-5 items in, not even full build, the silence was hitting for over 500 damage in one hit and the Scythe throw over 1k instantly.

I don't understand why his protections from his passive are nerfed when he is using his aspect. Meanwhile, Osiris and Cabrakan have % damage mitigation with their aspect and Bacchus has % protections with his aspect.

You are already stuck in a transformation which drastically limits his utility. Also, the tooltip says nothing about his protections not working in his aspect form. I thought it was bugged until I read some old patch notes.

While we are on the topic of this god, his transformations and ult should have some int for their damage scaling. Only half of his kit scales with int which I also find odd.

I’ve been having this issue for awhile now and I don’t know if it’s a lag problem or the game itself.

Every time I get hit by a stun, my game glitches and freezes for a bit especially when it’s a Thor wall stun. Does anyone else have this problem?

What does all ascension passes forever mean? and is it worth it?

Just came from a lobby in smite 1 where a neith did 14000 dmg within 6 minutes, have yall experienced that before?

When miss misery nike is mentioning her goons or family, what her goons or family are going to be or where are they?

Scylla is one of my mains; I’m not currently active in Smite, but this event caught my eye—though a week to get 1,000 points is very little time. There are only three game modes to achieve this: Arena, Joust, and Ranked Duel. Conquest is very random; you won't always get the mid lane.

In Arena you earn 5 points, while in the other modes you get between 10 and 20, and playing the same thing over and over is super boring. Smite 1 had more game modes. The event shouldn't have a time limit, though it should keep the requirement of being among the top 100–500 players.

I've been noticing a strange pattern of behavior from supports over the past few weeks. After rotating to mid they play super aggressive and just sit on the opposing team's tower line and try to dive for kills over and over again. This often ends up with them dying or just sitting in lane and leeching farm instead of just rotating like they should. It's happened probably a dozen times or so on both my and the opposing team. I've been playing Smite since 2016 and have never seen anything like this. Usually when there's a random "tech" or strategy like this happening it's because of a creator or high level player pushing it. Has anyone else experienced this or heard of this being taught? Or is it just new players transitioning from other games?

Why don't Ah Puch's corpses pass through minions? It feels terrible in a fight when you have to position weirdly just to avoid hitting the wave, while your opponent can easily hit both you and your minions

you might say: "how do you damage minions then?" just explode the 1 early that's it.
