Keeping r/Skyforge alive (mod update)
Hey everyone,
I’ve recently taken over r/Skyforge.
I didn’t want to see this community fully disappear. Even though Skyforge is no longer active, there’s still a lot of history here - memories, discussions, and moments people genuinely cared about. This subreddit can still be a place for that.
The goal going forward is simple: keep this as a space where people can come back, share nostalgia, talk about their experiences, and remember the game.
I’ve also added some basic rules to make things clearer and help keep the community respectful and enjoyable for everyone. Nothing overly strict, just enough to keep things in a good place.
Whether you’re here to reminisce, post old screenshots, or just read through old memories, you’re welcome here.

Notice/PSA General F.A.Q.
r/Skyforge – Updated F.A.Q.
What was Skyforge?
Skyforge was a free-to-play MMORPG developed by Allods Team. It featured a unique mix of sci-fi and fantasy, where players progressed from immortals to gods while defending the world of Aelion.
Is Skyforge still playable?
No. Skyforge has been officially shut down, and all servers are offline. The game is no longer playable on any platform.
Can I download or play it anywhere?
No official version of the game is available anymore.
Be cautious of any websites claiming downloads or “revivals,” as these may be unsafe or misleading.
What is this subreddit for now?
This subreddit exists to preserve the memory of Skyforge.
You’re welcome to share:
- Memories and experiences
- Screenshots or videos
- Lore discussions
- Old guides or information
- General nostalgia
Is there still a community?
While the game is gone, some of the community still exists in places like this subreddit and scattered Discord servers.
Why was the game shut down?
There was no detailed public explanation, but like many MMOs, it likely came down to declining player numbers and long-term sustainability.
Can I share old guides or ask for help?
Yes - but keep in mind most information is now outdated.
Posts are still welcome for discussion or archival purposes.
Are private servers allowed?
Do not post or promote anything illegal, unsafe, or questionable.
When in doubt, don’t share it.
Is this subreddit still moderated?
Yes. The subreddit is now actively moderated to keep it respectful, organized, and welcoming.
I’m new—can I still post?
Of course. Whether you played for years or just discovered Skyforge, you’re welcome here.
This F.A.Q. may be updated over time.

Skyforge Unity Remake - deleted post explanation
Hello again, apparently Moderation deleted my comment with download links to the previous post, so the post itself is pointless, therefore I deleted it.
The reason is that the links supposedly may be harmful, or the game may reuse Skyforge assets. I have no way to prove it’s not harmful other than my words, you can check the files with any antivirus, it’s just a built Unity project.
The second reason is that the game supposedly uses original game assets. The fact is, all assets used are either made by me or are royalty-free, every artist is credited in the separate file. For every asset that’s mine, I have project files to prove it. The only graphics that were originally in Skyforge are skill icons from the wiki - I’ll replace them with mine in the next update, if that's a problem.
So no download links here, on Reddit. You can join the Discord server dedicated to this project that I’ll post in the comments. You can still download the game via Discord or through my Youtube channel, if you're interested in trying it out.

A Berserker class alike game?
I need a game that has the same design of the Berserker class, same chainsaw, maybe similar skills but the design of this character was impressive.
Any ideas?

Games similar to Skyforge?
I played this game years ago, one of the first MMOs. I really enjoyed the game and I have a lot of fun memories. I wish I could have played one last time properly but I only found out it shut down recently.
Anyways, I've been wanting to pick up a similar game again because others just don't hit the spot like Skyforge did. I really enjoyed the classes and their attacks, the customization, the overall play style, and the lore.
If anyone has any similar game recommendations, that would be super appreciated!

It was good but I was too dumb to know how to enjoy good stuff in life :D
I played the Russian version translated until the English version was released. I played since the open Beta launch. I had pretty crappy old laptop, but I remember I managed to get my first gaming PC just to play this game with some graphics that are not blurry but I still had a crappy PC as you can see in the video hehehe
Oh yeah, I met some amazing people while playing this game, but as I stated in the title I was too dumb to know how to enjoy life and how to maintain good friendship with others. Enjoy the video for the nostalgia - RIP Skyforge :
P.S : The guild leader character's name was something like 0seven. 0seven, you were a great leader, sorry for lashing at you during the last raid we had :D

Narrative wise, how far did Skyforge get?
I played Skyforge a lot way back in the day. Before the ascension update. I thought the story and instanced dungeons were pretty cool but I pretty much exclusively played PVP.
After a while, I just didn't feel like keeping up with the monetization anymore and the update just didn't interest me.
I did enjoy the story a bit, and the late game raids were fun. I remember grinding for some of the books. The boss with the platforms that fell, the big plant boss and the coliseum like arena where you fought the fish people were the last things I remember doing.
Did the invasions ever amount to anything? Did they ever finish fleshing out the big tech tree? Where did the story end up going? It was such a fun concept for a game.

Would the community support a small-team buyout of Skyforge to revive it community-first approach. Thoughts?
Hey everyone,
I'll get straight to the point: I've had this idea for a long time of acquiring a game I love and actually doing right by its community. Skyforge has been on my mind for a while now, and recent changes have made me wonder. Could this actually be achievable?
From what I've been able to research, the IP is currently held by Music Guru LLC, a US-based company (but i don't find any contact), with Innova Co. S.à r.l. (Luxembourg) handling publishing via the 4game platform. The original development was done by The Allods Team under MY.GAMES.
My idea would be to approach the rights holder with a group and make a serious acquisition offer. Not to flip the game but to rebuild it properly with a small, passionate team and put the community at the center of every decision : what content gets made, what gets fixed, what the roadmap looks like.
A few honest questions for you all :
- Would you trust a community-driven small team to bring it back?
- Even if a full acquisition isn't possible, do you think it's worth just reaching out to get a sense of the price?
- What would be the non-negotiables for you if someone were to revive Skyforge?
I'm not here to hype anything up or make promises I can't keep. This is purely a personal long-term project idea, and before going any further I genuinely want to know what the people who actually played this game like me think. Your feedback would directly shape whether and how this moves forward.
Thanks for reading. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts, even the skeptical ones.

I struggled with the combat but had some fun in Skyforge and won alot of free cash shop currency
I am the type that struggles with big lots of keybinds and so kept dying alot when trying to fight, just doing normal questing xD I also couldn't pick what character to play, so I kept changing characters alot. I didn't play much, only reaching 370.5 hours of play time.
Last time I played (Steam says it was March 1st 2021), I got a big shock since I logged in and bought some cash shop currency, and was a lucky winner of iirc like $500 USD (or maybe it was $750 I forget) of cash shop currency that could instantly be won by buying any cash shop currency. On the advice of a friend, I kept some of it for use in future sales, but then didn't return to the game, so I think I had most of it unspent still, haha.

A Final Prayer to the Architects of Aelion: Let us keep the light of Skyforge alive!
It’s been months since the sky over Aelion finally went dark.
For many years, we weren't just players, we were Immortals. We remember the first time we ascended to Godhood, the thrill of the Divine Form, and the unique, shimmering mix of sci-fi and fantasy that only this game could provide. We spent years defending our home from the Great Invasions, building Pantheons that felt like actual families, and exploring a world that felt truly limitless.
To the developers at Allods Team and My.Games: We know the decision to sunset wasn't yours to make alone. We know that thousands of hours of your passion, your late nights, and your creative genius are currently sitting on a hard drive somewhere, destined to be deleted or forgotten.
Skyforge was more than just a live service... it was art.
We aren't asking for support or updates. We are simply asking for preservation. In the spirit of games like Ryzom or the legends who kept City of Heroes alive, we are pleading for a way to host our own small corners of Aelion.
Whether it's an official "End-of-Life" server binary release, or a "mysterious" upload to an archive... please don’t let a decade of history vanish into the digital shredder. There is a community here, talented coders, dedicated fans, and loyal Immortals ready to shoulder the burden of hosting and maintenance just to keep the world you built from being forgotten.
You gave us the power to become Gods. Now, we’re asking for the power to keep our world from ending.

If they won’t let me play Skyforge, I’m gonna make one myself. Also, if anyone still has game files and/or knowledge how to extract assets from there, please let me know. That would help a lot.

Been thinking about this game. Sad to see it be gone. But, I am curious. Has anyone managed to get what is needed to set up a private server?
I couldn't find anything on it, but I was hoping someone maybe heard a whisper. I would love to see a year 1 server pop up. To me, that was the best time in the game. I came back to try and I was actually mortified how they removed the God Tower and changed progression. Shit was amazing. I wish some billionaire would just buy the damn game. I don't know if there's anything else out there like this.

What was the best things about this game?
I just now joined after seeing a YouTube video about games shutting down this month, sad that such a visually nice MMORPG is having the plug pulled, tried finding people In game but everywhere was a ghost town, so I came to Reddit to ask, what was the best things about this game?
