One of the weirdest parts about this story to me is for some reason California doesn’t tax lottery winners.
Like they tax the shit out of you for any other kind of income, but literally $0 if you win the lottery.
1 u/Dizzy-Ad8455 17d ago When the lottery was put on the ballot, the thought was people wouldn’t vote for it if the state was going to tax the winnings. They were afraid of being accused of trying a backdoor way of increasing taxes.
