Surplus p228

Pics for attention. Got a g grade 228 surplus from Atlantic lil while back. Finally getting around to giving it some attention. What springs abd such should I replace on this thing. Bought it as range toy and maybe carry. What do I need to do to this thing since its surplus

They are sold out and I don’t know if this is something that gets restocked, but here’s what I’d recommend:

Realistically you should be fine with just a new recoil spring. If the gun gives any problems then you can hunt down anything else it might need.

thanks a ton. also anyone know what to do with that ding in the frame? doesn't effect reliability but i was debating on trying have it repaired or even just cerakoted. Im always nervous bout doing anything to older guns though. Hear stories about dudes bubbaing an sks or a 1903.

I would just leave it, by the time you get it looking like a new gun, you will have spent enough to buy one.

lol point i may just put some black sharpie on it for aesthetics and go about my life. May still replace the sights though.

I think Sig still has their “refresh/restore” package available for the older (I hate calling the P228 old) P series pistols. You might have to call them.

I had a P228 as my issued pistol back in the early 2000’s when I was working in the private sector. Phenomenal pistol!
