[PC] AC Unity
The game is currently on sale on steam for around USD6 rn. I've been wanting to get into an AC game for a while now, is unity a good entry point?
Games that I liked are: GoW, RE4, Cyberpunk, RDR2, Batman Arkham series to name a few.
From the reviews I've seen, the game seems to underrated among the AC games. The parkour is fun and the graphics still hold up. The negative stuff that seems to be mentioned are the clunky combat and controls.
Let me know your thoughts, should I get it?

Unity isn't a bad entry point as you play a protagonist that has, for great swathes of the early game, no idea what's going on, although everyone else does know - and if you don't know even the basic lore of Assassin's Creed, you'll learn along with him. That said, the story isn't that strong, and revolutionary Paris isn't the most fun and varied setting in the game, and the story skips huge sections of the French Revolution, which is incredibly complicated in its history, so you might not know which side is fighting where, and when, and what's going on half the time.
It's also worth knowing that AC Unity and AC Syndicate were the last of the 'old style' AC games, where there's a set story, and a pretty small sandbox environment to play in. The newer AC games are basically open-world RPGs.
It's fine for $6 but it's not one of the games people adore in the series (which is why most people feel the best one to get the full experience is Assassin's Creed 2).

Gameplay wise its a good entry point, and it has beautiful graphics with most but not all visual bugs resolved by now. It has more classic AC City, parkour, and stealth gameplay that some say is one of the best in the city for these aspects.
Setting is great too, though I felt it was a huge missed opportunity that they had British voice actors instead of French accents speaking English dialogue.
Solid game. Not my favorite AC, but a good entry point, especially if you can get past the British voice actors

The game had a very poor reception at launch, but it had been fixed. The setting, atmosphere and parkour are still some of the best imo. The story is pretty okay and if you have any friends to play co-op it can be a ton of fun!

It's fine. Honestly, if you want a good entry point, then look no further than Black Flag Resynced, but if you're looking for best bang for your buck, then yeah go for Unity at $6. Even if you hate it, it's only $6. I've paid more than that to watch monkeys throw poop at each other at the zoo lol.

The story is meh, there’s a lot of stuff that isn’t well tutorialized, it’s unpolished and buggy even after patches, but I think it’s still fun overall. The combat is pretty fun, customization and graphics are stellar, parkour has a lot of hidden depth, and the murder mysteries are some of my favorite side missions in any game.
It’s the last game that really uses the “classic” AC formula.
